So next TUESDAY (under a week !!)  I'll be magically going from a very tight 34b with a lot of air gap (shhhh, don't tell anyone ;) ) to a full 36C.

For anyone who has walked this trail, how long after surgery until you got a professional bra fitting or a DIY bra fitting?  I think I'll only have until Sunday.  I will probably need to back to the office on the following Tuesday or Wednesday.  Going without "support" isn't an option.

How long after BA do you need to wait before wearing a "normal" bra as opposed to the super duper sports/support bra they give you (at least I hope they will) in the hospital.

Your should talk to your surgeon about how long to wear the surgical bra after surgery. I was required to wear it 24/7 for 3 weeks except while taking a shower. There are some nice sports bras that should be fine too. Every surgeon has a different opinion about it though. I got my "all clear" to wear any bras - including under wire - 5 weeks post-op.

Jessica,

Thanks.  I have one of the best surgeons in the area (Chicago) and I intend to be anal about following instructions.  I'm looking for a consensus for what to expect.  The holidays are fast approaching and I'm traveling.  So being mentally prepared for what to expect the surgeon to say will help lessen the blow.

As long as on the seventh week I can put on a bathing suit I'll be happy.  The real question is, bikini top or not.

Thanks for the reply

So the answer, for me, was:  12 days post surgery I was given the green light to wear sports bras only.  I'm restricted from underwire bras until mid-December (6 weeks post-op).

Before surgery, I would typically wear 34 B with .... ummmm...  a little room left to spare if you know what I mean.  Post surgery I'm wearing 36C and fill the cups very nicely.  I mention this because people at work are still questioning me about what I had done while I was out for a week on Medical.

So the change is not "IN YOUR FACE" unless you see me topless.

That's great! You did it right, you didn't go overboard on size.

Thank you.  I'm older but had I been younger the allure for bigger would have been too great to resist.
