Megan,

I feel for you.  It's always terrible to be rejected by your parents.  It makes it very bittersweet to hear of others acceptance.

If it makes you feel any better (which I doubt it will)  at least your unaccepting parent isn't your neighbor.  I literally share a wall with my father.  Luckily, he is being a petulant child about this and avoiding me rather than arguing, but it still sucks to be reminded about his non-acceptance every time I see him.

It was painful at first. I've accepted and moved on.  If he wants to act like a petulant child that is his business.  At least these days he doesn't pop over to ask(coerce) me to do things for him nearly as often.
