DHT is produced primarily in the liver and skin from Testosterone by an enzyme called "alpha 5 reductase". As long as you do not have a deficiency in alpha 5 reductase and a consistent source of Testosterone, you should be making plenty of DHT.
If you feel the need for DHT, then there are risks such as acne and male pattern baldness. On the other hand, DHT does increase penis size during puberty.
For all FTM, I recommend just getting your Testosterone levels in the ball park and let your body produce the DHT. If you do have "alpha 5 Reductase" deficiency, then adding DHT will help develop certain masculine features.
