I haven't undergone transition yet, my face and hair is feminine, however the rest of me isn't and im a little hairy like with my legs and some other parts of my body. How do i look more like a lady? I am simply only curious. My body structure is not curvy but can't that be fixed with surgery and losing weight? I live alone and my dad rarely stops by, he won't notice immediately as you have might have seen in my other posts that i am afraid he will find out i am trans and i don't want that to happen yet until i see a therapist. Ok thank you girls. xx :D
I'm my girly self awaiting the day i look like the girl i am through transitioning physically male-to-female in order to becoming more of what is kept inside me so that i feel complete and experience life truly as who i am so that i don't have any regrets.

One of the best ways to start, is getting your facial hair removed by laser or electrolysis. Hormones will reduce body hair volume but will need to be waxed every eight weeks or so. There are do it yourself YouTube videos that show how to make the wax out of sugar and lemon juice. I did my pits about 6 months ago and the hair has not returned. Also my chest has remained relatively hair free. But your results will vary. But I am on HRT. Hair removal by electrolysis over the whole body is expensive. You're body has in the neighborhood of 40,000 hairs. A good electrologist can remove between 300 - 400 hairs an hour. I've had around 23 visits thus far at $60 an hour. Electrolysis unless you undress in front of Dad, he won't know. Without the beard shadow it gives a boost in confidence. Another area you may try is training your voice. I use an app called "Da Tuner" which is a guitar tuner, but it measures my pitch (ideal for me is 175 hz or F3.)  It helps to maintain consistency as you speak. Study videos of women you admire to identify their manner of speaking, body language, facial expressions, hand gestures. Try to emulate them the best you can. Since transition is such a long process. These preparations will shorten the time needed when you do come out. It is much more than makeup and clothing.  I hope this helps. Also on the wiki above are suggestions for coming out to parents in the form of letters.

Shaping your eyebrows will soften your face and most people wont even notice. You can also work on your posture and body language.

Hey thanks gals. :D I do shave my legs, my chest, my armpits, my face, ect. It is difficult to get rid of all the hair on my body though. How do i shape my eyebrows Stevie? By the way, awesome avatar. I think i saw someone with a similar avatar on an anime forum a few years ago called the "Narutoforums". She was a cool person.

I've seen many recommendations to not do eyebrows yourself and have it done professionally, then once you have the shape you can maintain.

I dont know if you do it yet or not, but to look more femine, you can wear more women/feminine clothes, there is many types of such clothes. Buy those you personally like.

This is good advice, but if you cant have that done there are a lot of online tutorials you can look at. If you do it yourself don't remove too much at first, just clean up around the edges. Then start to work on  getting them to the shape that you like. There are a lot of different shapes you can go with and you should look at several before you decide what you want.

For me, shaping eyebrows started with a pair of tweezers, and just working at the edges. I'd thin them a little, then a little more, than a little more. If you're nervous, just do a little at a time.

And Stevie - is that avatar Death, from The Sandman? It looks familiar - my wife is a fan.

Look shaping brows are not that hard. Just use a Magic marker totally opposite of your natural hair color and red if need be even. Sharpies go away with soap and water so use them to find your shape that is perfect for your face. Take your time.

I do the shaving thing because waxing messes me up really bad. So I would suggest to start by shaving those legs and underarms and if you can do that everyday to keep your skin smooth but remember one thing though and that is the first time you skin will be really sensitive. It may suck for up to two months after you start. Cis women go through the same crap. To get a really smooth face then you may have to shave it twice. Use conditioner for extra lubrication. Eventually your face will be baby smooth for at least 12 hours at a time.

But it all comes down to it takes work. I can't wax because my skin is way too sensitive. My body hair is too light for Laser. But then comes learning how to do your makeup.

Makeup is the key. Your head hair is the key whether it is a wig or your own. Body language is the key. But it is a commitment though. Growing your hair takes a lot of commitment and a lot of patience. it also takes a lot of courage to walk into a beauty supply store that sells hair so maybe start there.

OMG when you first shave your legs and then get under the sheets. ::) Then you have the next morning and it may itch or you may get ingrown hairs. Plucking your brows suck but make sure it looks good for you and don't overpluck. So make an outline. Beauty supply stores sometimes sell templates for brows. Always remember that beauty trends change so I would suggest using a brow razor instead of plucking. It is an everyday ordeal but at least you can keep up with beauty trends. But plucking ends up being an everyday thing too for stray hairs. So to me and I like thinner brows it is easier to use a brow razor and if the trend for older women goes back to thicker brows I can just adapt and shave less. But do not use a regular razor because a brow razor will give you more precision than the one your use to shave your legs.

We may be trans but it takes as much if not more work than cis women go through. Most of my cis women friends shave their legs instead of the waxing, electrolysis or laser. A little more work but it is kind of like the pubic area. Hair was in then no hair was in and then a tiny bit was in and then shapes were in and now doesn't matter as much as tomorrow.

But before you totally commit make for sure when it comes to legs and underarms. Chest and face is OK but the legs and everything else, make sure and who knows because in the next twenty years hairy underarms my be the style for women. I mean seriously hair removal has only been popular for women since the 1920's and the lack of pubes in just the last 20 years and even then not all the way other than porn and sex workers.

But I would say makeup hair styles, smooth legs and underarms and chest and face, body language and so on will be your best bets. Voice is a good way to go too. As for your arms just get a beard trimmer and use the number two and then the lowest on you hands and fingers. Most cis women have short and lighter hair on their arms so... Trim and then bleach if need be.

I hope everything I said helps a little. :-\
