Welcome to Susan's Place, Ms_Shawna! There are many variables. It comes down to the specifics of the policy you have. An exception is my home state of Massachusetts, where all insurers must cover GRS.

Hi, I have Aetna and my plan includes GCS and BA. I paid the surgeon $30,000 for GCS and a BA. My insurance reimbursed me minus the deductible 10% up to a max $5,000 deductible per year.  Crazy as this sounds when the itemized bill was done Aetna reimbursed me $2,700 for anesthesia but it cost $1,800. So my out of pocket was $3,000 minus the $9,000 for $2,100, from memory.

There are two surgeons in Philly that take Insurance up front. Dr. Leis ( I have been told) and Dr. Rumor. I picked up a friend at Hahnemann Hospital Friday that went to Dr. Rumor for GCs and she took the insurance up front.

shawna,

I don't have information on any of those insurers.

I do want to apologize. We should have given you an official welcome here. We like to share some links with newly posting members. They mostly include welcome info, a caution and the rules of the site. Please take a look.
