hello from idaho!

hello everyone! my name's carter. i'm a trans guy and i'm 16 even though i've been told i still look like a middle schooler 
this site has always been the first to come up when i'm looking for resources, so i figured it's about time i joined! i'm super into watercolor and like 75% of my thought process is about the show stranger things.
i'm pre-everything, currently trying to get my name changed (legally), and hoping to start T after i move out (my mom's a wonderful lady and i love her dearly, but she doesn't quite understand, and doesn't want me doing anything i'd regret)
i've got a close trans friend or two i can depend on, but sometimes i need advice outside of my small circle, yknow? also it's cool how there are older people on here! i can hardly even imagine making it to adulthood, so it's good to know there are those of you who survived for as long as you did!
i'm always looking for advice and tips on how to make it in the world i live (and in idaho especially  ) so if you've got anything i'm always happy to hear it!
also always looking out for good books and movies about trans characters, so if you've got any recs hmu!

  Hi Carter,

  Call me old will you? You, you, you young whippersnapper!  At 65 I must seem ancient to you and let me tell you sometimes I think it's cool too. It hasn't been easy making it to my age. I've had to face many challenges that could have cut it short and still do at times. So much so that I feel I am already living on borrowed time.
  You on the other hand have your whole life ahead of you and I hope you are able to make the most of it.
