...they've approved the funding for hair removal. They'll pay for 8 sessions of laser or up to £1,500 of electrolysis if I'm not a suitable candidate for laser (Dr Timmins said that my hair should be dark enough so fingers crossed). So excited! :D

Congratulation Shiratori on the good news. Will the NHS facility be doing it or do you need to find your own place to have it done. I'm in the USA so I haven't any idea how it works where you are. Here my electrolysis is completely out of pocket and I know I've paid over $1000.00 on it so far and am just getting started really.

Hugs,
   Laurie

Shiratori,  I use SkinClinics in MK,  they're great,  latest and best lasers (pew pew),  no problems. Just took a copy of my letter along from the funding authority. X

Yeah, Dr Timmins recommended SK:N as well so that's where I'm going to go. There is a laser clinic at Bedford Hospital but they're only open 9-5 monday-friday, whereas SK:N have much later hours and are open weekends.

They're really cool, I had a full HRT fuelled meltdown in one session,  the girl just stopped got me water and tissues until I pulled my sh*t together!

You have to go in to have a test patch first,  then they'll book in your first session. They do discounts for 6 or 8 session packages. You can park in the sainsburys opposite then just walk over the road. I pop some paracetamol and ibuprofen an hour before. PM me if you need any more info. X

Congratulations Shiratori!

+1 on Sk:n.  I go to their Bluewater branch and have always had really good, friendly service

I always try and avoid caffein on the day and try to drink loads of water.  This and the ibuprofen that Megan suggested really helps keep the pain levels down

If you ever want to buy any sessions, sign up to their mailing list well in advance and roughly every two or three months they seem to have a 30-40% discount off the package prices making it much more affordable
