Hey everyone,
So I am new here. I would really like some advice.
I am new to this an am supposed to see the doctor about my HRT in Feb. I just feel awkward because I am 6'1", I have large hands an feet. So I am afraid I wont look natural. I came out to my best friend who is a cis female. She got really excited, it actually crossed her mind that she might date me. But now she is ignoring me :-X
I am very much into girls, not guys, Ive heard that once someone starts HRT that they have actually changed to liking men. I am not trying to offend, but I want this transition to be with girls. So is this true? And do Cis girls like MTF transformed?
I have been dressed in public once before, and actually got two complements on that same outting for how cute I look(:
Anyways if anyone could please help?! I have noone to talk to since my bestfriend started ignoring me.
Thanks
KitCat

Welcome to Susan's Place. As for your first question, I am 6'2"  and I am far from the tallest person on  the site. Passing is more a matter of attitude than how you look. If you behave like you belong and you are comfortable with yourself, few people will question you. We can help you with your physical image but there is a good deal that will be up to you.

The answer to your second question is sometimes. It depends on what your real sexual attraction is. If you are only attracted to women, it will be the same after you transition. If you are bisexual or you have suppressed your true feelings, it's possible you  will be attracted to men after you transition. In my case, I was asexual before I transitioned and I have remained so after my transition.

Don't all tall cis/ or trans girls have big hands and feet? Look at Judy Gould she's 6'3" and shes beautiful and has shoes that I could wear with my shoes on! I'm really self conscious about my butt as it goes in instead of out in a heart shape. I'm new at this too and found when I was dressed in public I just focused on the things I got compliments on and liked about me and forgot all about my flat butt and flat sides.

As far as you sexuality goes hormones don't change it nor does transitioning. I was told that gender and sexuality have as much in common as sexuality and eye color. I struggled with this too at first. I still wish I was gay so I could have sex with a man as a woman. The only thing I have felt just being off of Test is no sex drive but I still see women as hot. Its kind of annoying but also kind of clears my mind of distractions while I focus on transitioning.

There are lots of tall transwoman at my doctors office and most I didn't even know where trans even though they had big hands and feet. They just acted the part like they belonged there and didn't dress over the top just dressed like every other woman. Think most super models are 6'+ tall too! Maybe you could pass as one of them if you work hard enough!!!

I think we get so caught up in passing and the little things that are manly that we forget all of our fem features, that you got complemented on! Try this: Make a list of two colums and list all your girly features and things that will change as you transition; don't focus on now focus on what you want to look like. Then in the other colum write down the manly things and as you do it ask yourself are these also womanly things? After you finish the list you should have alot more things then you think. Remember in the female category you can add things like: walk mannerisms voice hair clothes perfume make up(these are all things you can change if they need to be) attitude, state of mind, female brain/mind, estrogen, soft skin and your female type body parts. You can even write "Long super model hands!" in the fem cat.!

Many of us have stated that gender identity and sexual preference are two different things. While most of us report no change in either after transition a few us us have reported a gradual shift in our sexual preferences after transition.

I am not aware of any way to predict what will happen to any individual. It just pretty much seems to be a try it and see what happens type of situation.
