"The move at universities to create "gender-neutral bathrooms" has provoked a morality backlash that makes little sense. The fear is that "gender neutral" means "transgendered" or "martian" or something. Ooooooooo. Scary."

O.K, so the premise here is that a gender neutral bathroom will keep slobbish men from making a mess?  The bit about the toilet paper was funny.

Funny article. I can't understand what goes on in bathrooms that men use either. The men I have lived with aren't guilty but sometimes I go to an event where there is a single stall mens bathroom and a single stall womens bathroom and about 20 of my favorite people. Half of them men. After a  few hours the mens room is uninhabitable. I look around at my friends and wonder who is to blame. I can't imagine any one of them doing the things that actually occur in there. Must be those aliens sneeking in.

Before I transitioned, I used the men's room exclusively. I don't ever remember being bad, I know there were some that were very bad, but the area or where the restroom was located was in a not so good place either. Now, I can't smell, lost my sense of taste and smell when I was young, so I don't know if they smelled, I could only imagine. I have run across some womens room that were not so good looking either. I have to admit there is less writing on the wall in the womans room. I had a manager of a store that always said that if something was wrong with the toilets it would be in the womans room. They flush everything and anything down the toilet. He said that it was like three to one for the plumber. Now, if there is just one toilet, that could be a reason for some mess with the guys. Not aiming would be one problem. If they sit they need to tuck it down inside the bowl, otherwise it might shoot out between the seat and the bowl..

I'll never forget some of my first jobs as a teenager.  I've cleaned bathrooms at fast food places and department stores.  You just never know what to expect, but the stereotypes go out the window over time.  There are disgusting individuals of either gender.  It just depends on who has visited recently.  My daughter told me recently about sitting in a stall when a tampon flew over the wall and hit her in the head.  (Thank goodness it was a new one!)

This is a classic trans-phobic line:
"If the "gender-neutral" label would scare away deeply twisted slobs, I'm all for it."

Sorry, but this deeply twisted slob will use a rest room when she needs to.
