Hi!

I got peri top surgery a couple of weeks ago and have been really happy with the results so far. Right before surgery, I got my prescription for the testosterone patch, but I haven't started using it yet. I talked to the doctor who wrote the prescription and she told me it should be medically fine to start hormones as I am recovering, but honestly I think she's a bit of an idiot and I don't totally trust that. I've read that sometimes testosterone changes skin texture and this can change the healing process.

I'm apprehensive that these two changes in my body will be harder for me to process emotionally if they overlap too much, but I'm also eager to start using my patches! Has anyone started hormones in close proximity to surgery? Can you tell me how it felt, emotionally or physically?

I'm nonbinary, and I don't feel a sense of urgency to pass as a man, but I am very excited to start this next part of my transition, and I would love to get advice from anyone on a similar trajectory to mine.  ;D

Thank You!!!
