In some areas of the US, two lane roads can be choked with traffic. However, in remote or rural areas, they can be very relaxing. Lower speeds, more scenery, generally very little traffic.

We were at my dad's house again over the weekend. I finished clearing out one side of the loft Friday evening, but there is still a lot of stuff up there. Although it was a successful weekend in terms of sales, we had our first injury.

One of the people looking at car parts was trying to reach a small plastic crate full of trim pieces. Instead of clearing a path to the crate, he stepped onto a small pile of chrome trim. He lost his balance and fell. He was uninjured because he landed on some padding -- me. I had reached over to help him get the crate. When he lost his balance, he landed on top of me. Unfortunately I did not land on concrete, I landed on another pile of old car parts... some large, pointy hood ornaments. The person who fell on me was at least 300lbs. It took him a minute or two to get back up. Although the customer said he was OK, I could not say the same.

I went back to the house, and Susan helped clean the wounds. Although I was in pain, I kept working the rest of the day. There wasn't anyone else available who could manage the sale of the car parts. Once the buyers had left, we had supper before heading to my brother's house so I could clean up. After taking a shower, I tried to inventory the damage. I had heavy bruises on my right calf and right wrist, my left thumb was sprained, and I had two cuts along with another deep bruise on the left side of my lower back. My left forearm had also been sore all day. What I thought was a minor scrape was actually a deep puncture wound. I had to sit down after looking at it closely, it was much worse than I thought. I went to a 24hr Urgent Care Clinic to get checked out.

After cleaning my wounds, they did a few x-rays on my thumb to make sure there was no major damage. Since it had been more than 12 hours since the incident, they opted not to use stitches to close the wound on my forearm. I also got a tetanus shot. Although I'm still quite sore and have some bruises which are a beautiful shade of purple, there should be no lasting damage other than a small scar on my forearm. The doctor even gave me a note to take the week off. Unfortunately, all of our sick time and vacation time is lumped into one pool, so taking the suggested time off would be at the expense of vacation time.

We are set to close the sale of my father's house next Friday.

Love always -- Jess

Oh my, Jess!

That does not sound like it was fun. Rest up when you can and heal.

Dear Jessica:

Oh my goodness...
...you certainly had a "personally" exciting visit at your Dad's home... I am glad that you were not hurt too badly
although a 300 pound man falling on top of you when you are on pile of used car parts sounds mighty dangerous.

I am glad that your Susan cleaned up your wounds... and that you were able to get to an Urgent Care clinic
to check you out... ...and then got some X-Rays to check for more serious damage.

The bruising will take some time to clear up for sure...
...and will be a reminder for you to avoid being crushed by 300 pound falling bodies.

??? Question ???  Are you and Susan back at your home now or do you have to drive back in the morning?
          Please drive safely.

MANY HUGS,   ❤️❤️❤️

Jess,

That sounds very traumatic.  I hope you heal quickly.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Ouch, hope you heal up quick. As we age things take longer (tell me!) , yesterday I bumped my arm against something and it ripped the skin. Old age and HRT not helping. Hugs dear XXX

We are back at home, but there will be a few more trips to my dad's house. There's still a lot of stuff to clear out, and a few items we still need to retrieve.

Davina, injuries do seems to be more common as time passes. They are also more painful, and take longer to heal. My lower back and forearm are very sore this morning. Luckily, I don't plan to participate in any sporting events this week.

Today is our wedding anniversary. Susan and I were married on this day 41 years ago. I have often asked her why she has stayed with me all these years, and she always says 'because I love you'. Love, the most powerful force in the universe.

Thanks for staying by my side, @Susan_Rose . I love you.
