Does Anyone in Florida Know This Doctor?

Okay so I live in South Florida, and have been on HRT for 9 months now. I've had about three appointments with my Endocrinologist so far, and am due to make my fourth soon.

But the thing is, is takes me over an hour to drive there and back, and add on to that the usual hour in her waiting room. I just can't do that anymore, I rarely have that kind of time to spare, plus I have trouble driving at night, I'm a nervous enough driver during the day. And it's always getting dark when I leave her office.

The reason I originally went to her is because she was the only Endocrinologist anywhere near me who offered HRT without first needing a letter from my therapist, who was on my insurance.

But now, I just looked up others closer by, I just realized recently that as I've already started, I don't need a letter any longer, and can hopefully switch Endocrinologists before I've been with this other one a long time.

So I looked up others on my insurance, not many, like at all. There were two on there that were the closest, one it turns out is horrible, but the other got a lot of good reviews. The only thing is, I have no idea if she even takes transgender patients looking to go through HRT.

I tried calling up her office, but it seems they closed early today, so rather then sit around not doing anything about it until I call tomorrow, I figured I'd ask if anyone on here has heard of her, her name is Ikna Krysiak.

Remember that Endos treat many conditions other than transitioning. One of the most common conditions is diabetes however there are other lessor known conditions. Call up the office and find out if this endo is willing to do HRT because often doctors may like to specialize in other areas.

I know. That's why I'm asking if anyone knows about her.

And I have to wait till tomorrow to call, they're closed for the day. So I decided to ask instead of just waiting. I'm still going to call.

I said all this in my post.

I am in South Florida as well and any physician who practices in Ft Lauderdale is well aware of the LGBT community here. Her website lists sex hormones as an area of interest, so I would give her office a call and just ask about HRT for transgender persons. If they sound positive, make an appointment.

She is quite new, so I do not know if she is cautious or aggressive in HRT prescribing.

Since you are in South Florida, consider dropping by the Pride Center in Ft Lauderdale on the 3rd Friday of the month at 7 PM. We have a good support group going on. Next meeting is April 20. Lets talk.
