The usual hello :)

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking for ages so I thought it would be best to finally say hello.

I'm Vicki, actually my name that I'm planning is Bobbi Charlotte Victoria but I've been going out for the last few years (decades!) as Vicki so I'll stick to that for the moment. Bobbi is a special name to my family so I want to keep that too.

Anyway, after years struggling I've finally decided its time for me to do something about me and for me - I'm 48 now - so I have an appt with GenderCare (I'm UK based - South London/Surrey) in March and I'm hoping to get started on HRT while I wait the two years for the GIC in Charing Cross.

I've started some counselling/therapy, have also started getting my face lasered (electrolysis to follow) and voice coaching with an amazing lady called Louise Milner-Smith in Woking.

I'm at the stage of dressing in androgynous female clothes and its making me feel better already - nerve wracking already though but slowly getting used to it - I think that's the key for me, take it slow and feel ok - it will take 2 years to grow my hair out anyway!

Anyway lovely to be here & hope to chat loads more, make some friends (ping me if you're in and around Surrey or London - love to hear from you)

I have also just joined Susan's, I am 62 and like you and Charlotte have decided to go down the private route.

I live in the North West of England.

Therapy HRT and Electrolysis are the first 3 important matters for me.

I know the UK system can be drawn out and tiresome but there are many members here who have got through and can give advice.

Oh and yes start electrolysis/laser last year! It can take ages.
