Very cool! That was always one of my dream jobs. Except I am not artistic enough...

Thanks, reach for those stars, don't let your current abilities be your barrier.

I should stress also that Hollywood, games and theme park production don't hire just artists.  There's room for almost all fields.  Just gotta find your niche and market yourself well.

you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

I push bits for a living (you all almost certainly use something I maintain) - but not yet out at work (I will be in a week, at least to management).

I know you most likely cannot share but would love to see some of your work! You seem to be one of the stars in the business, even that you get to travel around the world...

My work actually is somewhat close to the industry You can most likely find our products in any major Hollywood studio and almost every TV and production house around the globe. And I am pretty lucky that I usually get to see a lot while working at customers.

For the next month I will be working on a huge TV production.... Most days I actually love my job.

Hah, star in the business, that made me smile, nope just a pixel pusher.  I just happen to work on things that I have to install in the theme parks.

I work at a university(I work in IT, though I'm not a programmer or developer). Even though the state doesn't have trans protections, the university does. The only downside is that the state manages the healthcare and it was just this year that hrt is finally covered, no other trans related care is. We've been fighting this for awhile. My wife works at Wells Fargo and they cover trans care and have good policies. I've heard great things about Microsoft and Apple too.

I'm a college professor. Higher education workplaces are generally safer than most for transgender workers. Mine is a bit of an exception, but I could definitely do worse.

A non trans friendly college in NY? I am surprised. I was born, raised and lived on Long Island for 40 years. I would think where I live now is worse.

It's nearly ninety percent male, has a regimental structure for most of its students, and has a lot of faculty and staff who tend to resist change.  It's changing, but not fast enough for my liking.

No, and to be clear, I've never had an issue with the ROTC officers. They have been absolute professionals.

Lol, Army here too.  I ended up enlisting in the Marines.  Army would have brought me in as an E3, Marines only E2 but made rank fast because of Vietnam.

I've never been military. I just work in a military-style environment. I have close family who have recently served (Iraq), but I'm just a math nerd who likes teaching.

Ah cadets, I have fond memories of making them regret asking to work with the Scouts when they did their summer camp in the real Army...

Dr. Of Veterinary Medicine here. Most of my co-workers are very accepting of LGBTQ people. Owners not so much. Fortunately the state I now practice in has very good protections, even though I will likely never be able to socially transition. I know a large number of openly gay and lesbian veterinarians but I have never met another trans veterinarian, that I know of.
I was also in the Army. I enlisted at the age of 17, without needing my parents permission, being an emancipated minor. MOS was 11B. I was in deep cover/denial at the time.

What's an 11B?  I spent a year in the Army Guard but don't remember what my MOS was for them.
