Tamika Olivia

So today I finally went to court and had my name changed to Tamika Olivia! I'm no longer living under am assumed name, and awkwardly pretending that deadname is a separate human when I talk to people outside of the know. I've been living as Tamika for so long that I didn't expect to feel this good, but it's a huge relief!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

That is awesome news Tamika! To some it may just be a piece of paper, but being able to use your real name on everything must feel pretty good.

Yay! Such a huge relief, isn't it? Now the arduous task of changing it everywhere else. Seems to take forever. From legal name change to receiving my new birth certificate was four months for me. But now everything is squared away. Just my old records that need to be changed (my college degree/transcripts and military DD214). My VA letters are addressed to Mr. Stacy Renée xxxxx because my DD214 is still male.
