Please, Please not that myth again, in this very thread I've railed against the one
cup smaller than relative myth that seems to continue on without any strong
supporting evidence. Its based on nothing conclusive at all!!!

The only study about breast growth of TS
was made by the amsterdam gender clinic quite a while back and they used doses of E
whose serum levels could not be compared to GG's (ethinilestradiol and premarin);
since this is the case and these things were prone to DVT, they were also undertreated
and since these synthetics had long term impact, they cut drastically post SRS dosages.
Also, human growth levels are different at puberty than at 40 so dosages need to be
adjusted and timeframe elongated (this needs to be taken into account)
Also to compare to groups, you have to make sure that they are very similar
that the sample is large enough to be statistically significant, none of which was
the case in that study.

Despite those multiple methodology holes, they compared GG's and TS groups at year 1 and 2,
which obviously gave GG's at puberty on top!!!
The whole 1 cup less thing seemlingly comes from this study since I've found
no other study anywhere that seems to be the source of the myth.

So, it may turn out your one cup below, but if you had received E at purberty you may have
turned up the same way, nothing to do with being a TS.

There could be a suitable study about breast growth in TS,
but it would be expensive (long term, 10 years ) and just finding
a suitable matching GG group would be very hard. Long term studies
with high enough dosages taylored to the individual is what's needed
to give a proper response.

younger you are, faster it all happens, and closer to the time it normally takes... and more likely you are to get a lot more... ive certainly had a lot happen to me in the year.... I seem to be one of the rare ones whos gotten a decent B cup off a year of hrt ><

I'm forty and I'm close to C rachel; with more weight, I'd be over C and probably close to D
(with such a small band size, even a bit of weight makes a big diff in breast size).
I'm very thin right now. 153 now and 6 foot tall and lotsa muscles.
It comes faster than what A PERSON would have had it had started  HRT earlier.
Comparing to someone else, is quasi impossible since there's so much difference in response
to E, P and sensitivity to T, fat levels, insulin levels and HGH levels and response to each.
Even at puberty, all these things vary widely from one person to the next,
with some starting puberty at 14 and finishing at 22,
while others starting at 9 and finishing by 14.

Basicly, I'll only say that with a X serum level of estrogen, progesterone and T, your own response is likely slower when you are older, but how slow is so highly variable that even that is not saying much. If you change your E, P and T from the puberty levels you would have had, then you could actually have a quicker response. Obviously, given this different dose younger would also make it quicker, though there is limit to the response at any age; human growth hormones set the higher boundary for growth. This limit is not necessarily reached; its even probable that its never reached.

yes, but thats not from a year is it? oh, ive been on hrt 1 year today! heh...
plus im not on progesterone, just low level estrogen.... very low apparently ><

You do love to contradict hey!

Body fat content has been proven to make a BIG difference in breast size
and that's another reason why comparing breast growth is a bit ridiculous.
I lost 30 pounds in a year, its a miracle I still got breasts at all!!  ;D
Its been 16 months BTW. Comparing E levels or doses is just about useless,
since everybody's got their own sensitivity to it.

As I said, I'm very thin. Can't even pinch 1/4 inch on my stomach.
I can pinch 2/3 inch on my thighs and even more on my buttocks.
All my fat is bellow the waist, probably hereditary.
From my waist up, besides my breasts I can't pinch more than 1/8 inch anywhere, my ribs are visible
and they've always been. Always had almost no fat on my upper body.
I've never seen anybody, anywhere, with more visible veins under their arms, a sign of low under skin fat;
they are a lesson in anatomy (not very elegant for a woman, they annoy me).

When I was training on junior team in my early 20's, I had 2% body fat in the water tank test!
I'm now about 12-15%, still much lower than avg women, women athletes usually have
this level. But its all well placed so its ok  ;)

Hrrm, Keira, since you're toting your success of HRT, what kind of vitamins and supplements do you take?  You work out regularly and follow a healthy lifestyle.  Just wondering if that's all there is to it or if you gots super mones or something:-p

Keira

Just stopped eating unhealthy and watched portion sizes.
Didn;t really up my exercise content that much.
My frame is very smalll compared to the amount of muslces on it,
which makes my metabolism very high. I could eat 3000 calories
last year and stay  at the same weight 185, so obviously I needed
to cut a big on that to reduce the 30 pounds. But, a year is a long time
so I didn't need that much of a diet, just needed to continue what
I was doing the whole year.

Don't have supermones, I'm a 34 B or C (depending on the company, B is a little tight and C is not perfect
so I'm just under C, a B+ :-).

What I'm saying is that the cup size things for TS thing is a myth.
You get what you get, just maybe slower than you would have had at puberty.
If  its too slow, maybe the dosage is too low for you (for someone else that dosage may be fine).

do you mind explaining what you accused me of? 'contradiction'?
im sick of you claiming anything i say to be lies simply because you didnt have that. either tell me why im a liar, or take it back.

I heard 4-6 years for full development of breast tissue in MTF transsexuals. Similiar to natal females going through puberty. I feel this to be true.
Ive been on HRT for a year and I have only an A but a B feels more comfortable though. Allthough I cant fill it out properly. I have been told I will probably end up a C in a few years time. That will suit me fine!
I heard that breasts define a womans feminimity. Well according to men anyway...If I dont reach my desired C in a time frame like 4 years I will go for a BA if I can afford it. Im not your average woman and am 6 foot 4 and 64 kilograms. I have a very feminine body though I always have had and HRT hasnt done much to change that. I stand out so much that when Im ready to pass I think I still wont fit in because of my height. But trying to be a guy I dont fit in either! So having breasts is vital to me to pass! So Im waiting a few years until my breasts are really noticable and my face and body have benefitted enough from the Eostrogen. I must undo that Testosterone damage which is mostly hair related for me. Im not muscly at all in fact rather skinny. well one year down 3-5 to go.
Oh yeah Im 34 and still get asked for ID sometimes. I must look young still. I feel young still! I dont see from this point of view what age has got to do with it. It must be Genetics. Maybe their right in saying you get similiar development as your sisters or mother. This sounds pretty much the right thing.
And just maybe if you dont develop like your sisters or mother then your not a real woman! Oh thats right Im not a real woman. But I feel like one. Its not fair. I want a baby :'(

Breasts define the woman?  Lol, I think breasts define both men and women, just with men it's otherwise known as the, "pectoralis major."  Gotta love a man with a nice chest:-)

Oh and just in case if you ladies think you're the only ones crying over slow chest growth, here's some inspiration to knwo you're not alone!

So see?  Trans women and bodybuilders aren't so different:-P

We just happen to have superior intelligence over those muscleheads.

It took me five years of on and off growth before I had enough breast development to wear a dress without a bras. I believe that even though greatly slowed down I still have been getting growth on and off for the last couple of years but I think for the most part I am at maximum growth for me and for my size. I am quite pleased with the result and I will say like Keira I believe I m lucky to have any at all because in the beginning I was skin and bones and that was the most likely reason why I never really had very much muscles at all.

I'm heading into month 8 of HRT and i'm at a 32A right now. The growth seems to come in spurts. Right now they are rounding out and becoming fuller, not necessarily projecting out more. I'm fairly happy with how they are growing given my small frame and age (25). I'm being as patient as possible and enjoying the ride. I think if I can put on a few more pounds and get up to a full B then I would be happy.

I haven't showed my boobs to anyone, I'm kinda self-conscious. But I have only been on HRT for 7months so I'm still kinda early in physical changes. But I do have boobs they just aren't the size I would like them to be, I think they are around an smaller A-cup. It's important to me because the rest of my body is quite feminine, I just don't have big boobs and I feel like I'm out of proportion. Sorry everyone I know I'm such a girl we always worry about our boobs.

I worry too. I do hope they get to grow more. I was a smaller A by that time, too. I started out with nothing, no pecs, no fat, so it's not bad.

I'm a full A (34A) or close now, I hope I can reach B cup before 2010...

If I don't get at least a full B cup by the time I'm 30 (I'm 25), I'll get implants to reach C cups. And I do worry about my size, as far as swimming suits or other times where it could matter.

Because of my peculiar ribcage form (modified by a congenital malformation), I have to wear 34 inch bands, although my nipple-height circumference is 32.

uh? you go out then dip in at the breast?how can your overnipple be smaller than your underbust if your an A?

Some people have a chest that caves inward or upward (they are congenital problem), so it would be
possible to have non standard measurements. Though, I can see how this can make
a C more usefull (to counter this) than your frame would seem to indicate.
I've got a 34B (sometimes C, I'm borderline) and My over the breast measure is 36 and under breast
is 30.5 and overbreast is 33 (though, my measures change a bit from measure to measure so I'm probably not measuring perfectly all the time, but I'm close).
  •

Rachael

how do you figure that? if your 30.5 under, why a 34? seems an aweful discrepency....
and ive been fitted professionally, my bandsize was 36, like my underbust...
R :police:

Keira

Its because my overbust is closer to 34 racheal.
The traditional formula was underbust + 5 (or 4),
so most women have an underbust much smaller than their band
because their torso is shorter and thus more likely that the ribs
start to taper down under the breasts (in men, we're taller,
so the thoracic cage is usually close to the same size above
and below).

For me, its not the thoracic cage which is tapered,
the differences is due to muscles in my back.
The 34 put in the middle bracket is slightly loose,
but if I used a 32 the top end of the band would be
way too tight. I've got still quite a bit of trapeze
muscles in the back which acount for the 2.5 inch diff between
underbust and overbust.

34 is truly my band size, tried Warner, Wonderbra, VS, etc.
Its all 34 for now. My old 38 from a year ago, Its just
incredible that I filled them!

Bra measurement = ribcage + 5 inch

My ribcage = 29 inch or so
My chest = 32 inch or so

Rachael

not whats used here... and ive had more than one professional fitting.... if i tried to wear a 40 bra it would be loose... thats incorect :P
36 fits comfortably.... and supports. and its correct according to the two professionals ive had fittings from.... beats me
