HRT and orgasm

Iv been transitioning now for a little over a year and on estrodiol unlike a lot of other trans girls i have a high sex drive and no issues with getting an erection,  I also happen to like to top but I was told that if I continue to engage in sexual activity and orgasm my body releases the estrogen and my HRT will go to waste greatly slowing down changes from hrt. My question is is this true? I can't find answers to this at all no matter how much research I do even my doctor has no clue! Does orgasming (not ejaculation) release and waste the estrogen in your body?

Welcome to Susan's.

I have heard people worry about orgasms in particular and sexual activity in general  increasing their testosterone.  The consensus as far as I can see is that it is not true.

I have never heard of it lowering your estrogen.  I think that is even less likely to be true.

To get a definitive answer, you might have to talk to an endocrinologist.  I am not sure if it is worth a referral just for that one question though.

Your use of the word "release" suggests that someone was confused about the terminology.  Orgasm does "release" endorphine into the blood stream.  The word "release" in this case means that the level in the blood increases.  So it is possible that the originator of this idea made two errors: Confusing endorphine with estrogen, and thinking that release meant to decrease instead of increase.

Um... did anyone with an M.D. and experience in transgender endocrinology tell you this, and did you get a second, confirmatory opinion from another similarly qualified professional?

Or is this just something some character said they saw on Teh Interwebz?

Me, I wouldn't worry about it until I'd checked with the endos.

I have been on hrt for three years. I have sex twice a week usually, with one to two orgasms in a two week period. It's much more difficult now but it doesn't bother me much if I don't. I do not top, not ever and no one but me and the girl who does my electrolysis touches it, not even my boyfriend. I don't mind contact with him but handling is definitely out. It's at least an inch, probably closer to two inches shorter than before hrt, it mostly gets as hard as ever but nothing comes out.

I don't know how much it has effected my estrogen. It doesn't seem to be a problem, I am happy with my transition.

Thank you for the info I was just very worried about it because from the very beginning of my transition nothing that other trans girls have told me about what it was going to be like happened! I had bad headaches for the 1st week but that was it, my mood, emotions, sex drive, aggression, has remained the same the changes from hrt was slight shrinkage unable to ejaculate, very small amount of facial feminization and breast development but no other fat redistribution that said  luckily I pass very well because as a male I was very feminine looking  and was 90% gendered  as female before I had started taking hurt. I don't know anyone personally who is also trans all I have to compare experiences with are the girls on YouTube or online

It's different now.  It's more like I'm a slow cooker slowly heating up to an orgasm vs a microwave like I was before estrogen.  It feels better when it happens, it happens less often, I still get hard enough to do what I want with myself and partner, and if I don't end up having an orgasm it doesn't make me super frustrated like it did before.

I heard from my trans community in my country that if you masturbate it will release testerone also she told me to not to masturbate while doing laser because the hair will regrow
