Name change and legal docs in NC

Well if anyone is in North Carolina it is almost impossible to get anything done.  I have talked to a lawyer about name change and docs changed. And what he said means you got to find one that knows a clerk of court and a judge willing to help. He informed me back in November that i need to get this done before next election in November because she may lose her seat and it maybe even more difficult. He said its fbi, and a bunch of background checks that takes the longest. So i am starting my process this spring.
