I hinted to my family today about me being trans, just by talking about a transgender book I've been reading, how much I hate wearing men's shirts and about wanting to grow out my hair, which is giving me the impression my family would accept me bring trans, I was tempted to come out to them, but it's far too early for that

I'm feeling a little better today wearing a wig without makeup.  This usually causes me a lot of dysphoria and made me think "what's the point of growing my hair out". But now I'm so dedicated and I'm only 1 beard laser session in and not even 1 month in on hormones! I hope this is a happy start for me for once...

Three things this week, first I went out to Arizona for a FFS consult with Meltzer and Ley which was very thorough, and I flew for the first time as me without event. I'm pretty sure that TSA Precheck had something to do with that, but my therapist thought I'm probably also passing better than I give myself credit for. I don't see it at all but I was happy for the uneventful interactions with American Airlines and TSA.

I also had my first experience with some random dude helping me out if the blue. Apparently I was a damsel in distress who looked like she couldn't find the right bus from the car rental to the terminal. While cool and exciting, also annoying and I can see how that will get old really fast.

But most importantly, my wife went shopping with me today. Her idea, and way too much spent at old navy. Estrogen is not bank account friendly, for sure.

Tonight I realized that I get way fewer weird looks in "hair tie and screw it" (no makeup in sight) mode than in boy mode.

My boyfriend called me pretty today for the first time. 😊 He has said that I should makeup more often, that I look prettier when I wear it, grr >:(, but has never actually said that I look pretty.

Huh, wait. I am not sure that he did now that I think about it.  :(

Okay, so he is on the board of a local art gallery. When we have our local fall fest every year they take advantage of the foot traffic downtown and have an exposition. This evening they all got together, drank a lot of wine and, and well, it was very fun. His one friend is also on the board and I met his daughter for the first time tonight, 23, pretty and cold. Or at least she was to me.
On the way home I mentioned how rude she was to me and he chuckled, and said, Well pretty girls compare themselves to other pretty girls don't they. You couldn't see her face when she realized that the woman she was trying to decide if she was prettier than was more than twice her age.
Technically he didn't say I was petty I guess.
That's okay. 😊 He is biased, not right in the head and probably needs new glasses but it still made me extremely happy. :icon_geekdance: :eusa_dance: :icon_geekdance: :eusa_dance:

I'm proud of myself today, I asked if Waterstones had a transgender book I was looking for, then went into Boots and looked for make-up (I tried doing that the other day but got scared, ha). I still look with great envy when I see girls who look nice

Boots is great and never have trouble getting help, not a batted eyelid when I got colour matched.(think old bald bloke asking for make up)

A couple things made me happy.  My sister gave me that doll and I love it.  At her wedding I asked for a girly day of the dead face paint.  The painter gave me the same pattern as the doll.

Then on Sunday, I wired a gfci outlet, and only had to ask for help once!
you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

Wife commented and said, "I'm sure you have some breasts growing."  And I think she might be right.

My appointment with the mental health specialist has come through the post - in the UK, this is basically the first step (after telling your doctor that you're trans). I feel happy that the wheels are in motion, even if I am at the very early stage of my journey. If anything, it's hit home how serious this transition will be, it's going to completely change my life, and at some point I'm gonna have to tell my family who I really am

I'm a big fan of Boots 'Match Made' service. Their bigger stores have a little gizmo they press to your jawline,  and in a couple if seconds it can recommend the right foundation shade which saves alot of guesswork! Just ask at the no.7 counter,  never had any issue presenting male,  female or random [emoji16]

Wow, omg. That sounds really helpful. I have been told the colour of your neck should be the colour of your foundation
