At first I thought I'd put this in the happy and sad thread, but ya know what... it's a bit bittersweet, but not truly sad, and I'm going to focus on the happy.

So for the past few years, given my living situation and general lack of socialization, my step-brother has been my one friend to just sort of hang out with, do random stuff like play games with, talk about movies and tv, etc. It has become a tradition for us to go see the new releases of comic book movies the Thursday preview showing, and tonight of course was the release of Thor Ragnarok. Well, my plan is to come out to everyone here in the next week or two as I begin HRT (I've said before I don't want to be doing it in secret), and while I don't expect hostility at all, I do expect a degree of awkwardness when it comes to my step-brother which may very well spell the end of us grabbing food, seeing movies, etc. So this movie may very well be the last of that tradition. But it was a good meal, and an amazing movie, and just was overall a fun time had. I feel like if it is the end... well, it's good to go out on a high note, and this was definitely one, and I'm happy that I had this exceptional normalcy before things really start to go nuts. ;D (Seriously, amazing movie.)

I wish I could tell you that things will stay the same (maybe for you they will!), but I've found that even though my (male) friends are very supportive of my transition, there's something that just feels different about hanging out with them now. I still enjoy the same things, I'd like to think my sense of humor is even better since I'm not so depressed anymore, but there's just something there. Pretty sure it's me, and not them, but I'm not certain yet. Maybe it's just a new dynamic to our friendship I'll need to adjust to. It probably doesn't help that I've also come to the realization that I'm attracted to one of them :eusa_shifty: (unfortunately I don't think he's interested in anything beyond friendship, at least for now).  :(

Going to see Thor with a bunch of friends tomorrow! Not the one I'm attracted to, though. Glad to hear it's good. I'll try my best not to swoon if / when Hemsworth loses his shirt....  :eusa_drool:

Oh, he does. ;D Haha, honestly that was actually the first time since being honest with myself I sort of allowed myself to ogle a guy.

A guy yesterday called me she then incorrectly called me he. I guess that was my first male fail, even though I clearly look male so I'm confused lol but I'm not complaining

I got my ears pierced today.  Then i talked with some neighbors afterwards in our courtyard.  My immediate neighbor helps run the local lgbt office.  She said it was a good look for me.  Another neighbor, guy, said its opening up past metro, and i should be careful.  I am not out to any of my neighbors, but i do like their comments:)

It hurt for about 5 min, then nothing.  I have wanted this for a while.  Plus its one of those small things i can do while hrt takes forever to do its magic!

I used to ration those kinds of steps out for when HRT just seemed to be going soooo slooow.

:

April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Nice!

(Now wear your pink ear buds with them, and show your neighbor what's really past metro! ;D)

I know that look. That's the I'm going to leap on top of you and scratch the crap out of you the second you turn your back look. I've seen it in many a cat, and a handful of particularly vicious children.

I started HRT yesterday.  The glow of knowing I'm doing something proactive and positive after all this time is still making me very happy today.
Best first post, I love it!

Wow, we're going at a similar pace in our transitions I think - I just got mine pierced today. (if anyone is worried about the pain, if you survive any electrolysis, this is nothing!)  I'm wearing a metal ball in each ear now.  :)  We'll see if anyone at work notices.  But this is my happy thing for today!

Male fail for the first time  :)

Incredibly, I was in male lycra cycling gear so definitely not a flattering look.  The HRT must be doing something!

Had an incredible day flying my KT-110 drone.  I built it myself and have been trying to get the settings just right for me.  It finally feels really dialed in.  I think I have flown about 20 packs this afternoon and it was a blast!

I spent most of the day hanging out at a girl friend's house with her, her husband, and their 3-year old (who apparently now loves me for some reason I can't fathom!).
She asked me if it was OK if they referred to me as 'Aunt Sarah' to their son, since he doesn't actually have any aunts or uncles that actually have anything to do with him. Of course I said yes! I have no idea if I actually am an aunt, since I haven't spoken to either of my sisters in over 20 years.

My Sister used my name immediately after coming out to her today.  It's the best present I could ever have asked for.  Happy tears now for hours.
