I had my pre-op appointment for a trachea shave! It is scheduled for January 4 at 8:00am. I guess I am a bit scared and happy at the same time. This will be the first surgery I have ever had.

I don't know if it is psychological or physical, but I'm definitely having quick turn around on some HRT effects! Saw Star Wars episode 8 today and was crying at the stupidest stuff. ;D

I had to choke back a few tears when we first see Carrie Fisher. There are definitely a few cryable moments in there.
BTW - I LOVED Last Jedi! One of my favorite Star Wars movies of all time.

As much as I want to move into my own apartment it's nice to be content with the room I'm renting for now. I have my days lol

Saw my commander today and he'll be signing my approval letter for the timeline of my medical treatment plan. I may be starting HRT sooner than I thought. ^_^

First day at work with eyes officially 'made up' (previously only light mascara for the lashes)

I noticed one of the ladies here had seen and was looking, I made a point of mentioning it and asked her opinion:
I got a full thumbs-up well done.  The reason she was staring was because she liked it. WOOT!
I left the door open, only a few came through. such is my life.

Mom gave me a ring!

My girlfriend accidentally sent this to her boss, my former coworker, who is not a fan of my transition.  And didn't get in trouble for it.

This is how I show up on my moms phone when I call her.  And it pops up as Claire!

I just like this one, the build a bear my exwife got me, unstuffed, with my dog who's sad she's not allowed to play with it.

I got to hang out with one of my best friends tonight and make cookies! we made walnut kolacky, which are my favorite holiday cookies! A lot of mine burst open because I used too much filling, oops, they still taste great though! We exchanged our x-mas gifts too, and it was really funny because we actually shopped for eachother at the same store lol, I got her a gift card for the place and she bought me coffee (and some mini bottles of baileys to mix in!)

I also love how excited her dogs get when I come over, it's so cute!! They go crazy and give me so many hugs and kisses and one of them even dances because he can't contain himself! The other one has a chewed up blanket that's like her favorite thing ever and she always runs over and brings it to me when I see her, those pups make me feel super loved!

Yeah Megan! It's the little things that count...

Roll

A few things!

1) My younger brother confirmed he is coming for Christmas, which is rare. He also asked if I had a recipe for some unique chocolate chip cookies that a friend of my mom's (who also babysat for us for years when we were little) used to make for everyone during the holidays. Getting those cookies each year as kids was a huge deal for us. Unfortunately, she passed away many years ago now, and no one I know living would have her recipe. However... I think I've garnered enough skill in the kitchen to replicate them pretty closely, and am going to do some tests today to try to make a close approximation for a present for him. (The cookie part itself was soft but very thin, with a huge chocolate chip proportion. This created mountains of chocolate chips in the cookie that because the thin dough didn't take long to cook on account of the thin dough, would keep their shape. They also had a strong flavor. My guess is that it is a very buttery, room temperature dough with probably triple the usual amount of chocolate chips to dough proportionally, making the dough "melt" out into the thinned wafer edges quickly. Probably with extra vanilla extract, and brown sugar over white.)

2) My hair has filled in significantly now! Only 4 months on the typical regimen, and I have no truly barren spots. All of a sudden in the past day or two, my thin, wispy hairs on crown darkened filling in the area. My hair on top and on crown is still noticeably, severely thinned, at least in contrast to my thick hair on sides, so it's not great still, but I am more hopeful than I ever been I will be able to get a full head of hair with only some light transplants (the cost of which has always stressed me out, so the more I grow the more I save!). I have an unrealistic hope as well that by the time I am on the hair meds and now with HRT added for the recommended 1-2 years that this early turnaround can only mean even more dramatic results down the line. ;D

3) Today ends my first week worth of HRT, and I am ecstatic every time I take the pills. It just all feels so wonderful and right, and I've never been so confident in myself!

Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

is 'feel good' close enough to happy?

I was walking down the hallway (at work) when one of the ladies yelled down to me to come. I figured, broken computer or something that I didn't want to deal with yet. She's pleasant though so I put on my smile and went into her office. I'm ready to spout gibberish & small talk about 'what's the problem' and all that. She's knelt down behind her desk, rummaging around. Turned out to be her purse.  She handed me several samples of different foundations to try under my eye makeup.

I think I have someone I can talk to about how to do makeup without becoming a clown-face. Clowns are scary  ;D
I left the door open, only a few came through. such is my life.
