Today my birth certificate arrived, which made this Transgender Day of Visibility particularly awesome (it is my first TDoV expressing myself as a woman, so it's awesome that now *all* of my legal identity documents have the right name and gender).
I did not expect it to be particularly emotional - I thought I went through that already with my state ID, passport, etc - and it's not like I show people my birth certificate awesome. But every document I get, holding it in my hand, and seeing the right stuff on it...well, it's wonderful, and, yes, a bit more emotional (in good ways) than I expected.
