Hi, tried to read the help instructions for the search utilities multiple time and i still cant seem to get it working. I want to use the forum search tools so i can search about a specific topic in relation to getting an orchiectomy. In canada they recently changed GCS's to be universally funded, i think? and i want to search about this topic with RECENT results, because results before 2016 are under different laws

the problem is when i search i only get old results, even if repeatedly state i want the results in the last 365 days. I have to use google search with the site parameters of this website to find relative threads, but its still random and disorganized. Am i screwing something up or is there something with the search access tool im not getting?

like if i search for the word "ontario" in the last 365 days most of my results are between 2012 and 2008. please tell me what im doing wrong, sorry, im not the most technologically literate person in the planet, as you can probably tell

I've been trying to figure this out for months. I too have been relying on Google. Would really love to know the solution.

I gave up years ago and use google instead. Put site:susans.org in the search to limit it to this site.

Welcome to Susan's Place . The forum search works pretty well and there are areas of the site like the staff area where it's the only option. To use it there are two things you have to understand about it.

1. You must me in the area or the tread you want to search. You can't search the entire site with it. In this case, you would want to be in the Orci or GCS area of the site. Because of misfiling transgender talk and MTF transsexual talk might also be good places to look.

2. To make the search more powerful, place the cursor in the search field but leave the field blank and do a search. This will cause the search to enter the more selective mode and you can tweak the search for very specific results.

The site search is my primary search as most of the time what I am looking for isn't where Google can see it. Sometimes it is a bit more difficult to use than Google but if you know where something is that your looking for, it will find it.

Welcome to Susan's!  I'm Jessica and I've always had problems too with the search.  Dena's advice I think will help all of us.

"If you go out looking for friends, you are going to find they are very scarce.  If you go out to be a friend, you'll find them everywhere."

Hi lucideksdee, welcome to Susan's Place! Go to Search, then advanced search, enter Ontario in the search box, set the search dates to 1 day ago and 730 days ago, and you get six pages of results containing the word Ontario within the last two years. You can vary the search term and dates as required.

Hugs, Devlyn
