Well yesterday I awoke to go to the VA and see my doc. When I got there everything was normal long waiting times. Then I saw my doc! She said okay you ready and excited as much as I am? I was stoked! So I got my hormones and I'm on cloud 9. But while I still look very much male I had the hardest part to do next and that was comming out to my dad. I sent him a semi-long email and told him everything and its okay to reject me. He responded in a hour saying he loves me and that he doesn't reject me and he is there for me. I'm super excited and shocked by his response. But knowing my dad he likes to make jokes (all in good fun) and said please don't end up looking like your mom she's a bitch lol I laughed so hard I almost died. Long story short we both hate my mother and I'm going to get FFS anyway so yea long story. Now hormones need to work and I need to save for my FFS and BA and GRS. BA and GRS is way off but better just save now. I am so excited and happy! Next step lose 45lbs in my gut and other places.

*girl in picture isn't me but some day it will. O and I work in the gun industry so that should also explain a lot.

Sorry for being "that girl" but it's instinct.

Congrats on having a cool dad, and good luck in that industry.  I worked in it for a while and I don't miss it.

You also should start shooting competitively so I won't be the only trans goofball out there.

Hi Ashley,

Congrats on starting you HRT. I hope you get the best results from it that you can. I also have my hrt, therapy and voice coaching through the VA, along with the rest of my medical care.
Last I saw, you were not too enthused with your doctor at the VA in Vancouver. Is this the same one that was as excited as you were to be starting HRT? If it is, all I have to say is it sounds like you might be getting along better now. I hope so because you should have a doc you are comfortable with. I didn't like my primary care doc much either, but after I told him I was transgender things changed. He prescribes my HRT and set up my referral to therapy. I found out he had 2 other trans patients besides me.  I personally cannot complain about my care with the VA.
Anyway make sure your seat belt is fastened. The ride starts out slow but gains in excitement as things begin to happen. So sit back and enjoy the ride.

Hugs,
  Laurie

Well its been a little over a month on hormones and I can feel under my nipple a small bulb forming. My skin is becoming very soft and so is my hair. Voice training is very difficult.

Also don't forget to be careful how you sleep in the coming months.  Actually don't worry, they'll remind you soon enough  ;D
