local lgbtq artist showings

Hey Yeti here,
Are we allowed to support local Lgbtq artists and community center art showings or is this just the Susan's Boards edition of Artsy things to read about?   I think getting ourselves in and out of our local or regional community centers is a really great thing.  Ours has showings for local artists, poetry and open mic that we read about long before it actually happens.  Thanks.
