Ever considered DIY vaginoplasty?

Firstly, this not about attempting anything dangerous, only thinking about it.

When starting my transition, I had seen a great many photos of vaginoplasty, and a couple videos (on CD back then, as there was no internet yet). It had got me thinking. It did not look very complicated.  Knowing I'd probably never be able to afford the surgery (and so far, I've been right), I had actually given it a lot of consideration. I just wasn't sure I could tolerate the pain for that long, and "what would happen if I so much as nicked an artery?".

So, I chickened out. At least, after my orchiectomy, it does not feel as important as it once did.

Anybody else give it consideration?

Lets see a 2-4 hour surgery that takes a specialist team with HDC on stand by.

I can't imagine how you'd even reach down far enough for srs, let alone all the other problems.

I can understand your questions somehow, but just stick with medical tape for now and tug. Hopefully a change to have surgery comes your way.

As I have mentioned, there was a time when I actually considered it. After weighing the pros and cons, I chickened out. My dysphoria has been that bad. I even told Phillip that if I get the chance to have the surgery, and if he were to try to stop me, I'd file for divorce immediately.
I am one that would tell people considering it a very bad idea, and attempting it would be a deadly act.

Nope. Never. If even skilled surgeons can get it wrong, what would happen to a regular Joe trying to do it to themselves? No amount of YouTube videos can make us skilled surgeons, attempting this would be pretty much the same as commiting suicide.

No offense Sarah but this is the craziest thing I've ever heard! The surgeons who do SRS are specialists. Even if by some miracle you survived DIY SRS I can't even imagine the jacked up mess you would have between your legs. I have extreme dyspphoria over my genitals but if I couldn't have SRS for some reason I would just learn to live with it. It's extremely important to me not to have a dick but it's equally important to me that I have a normal looking and fully functional vagina. I just can't say enough what a bad idea DIY SRS is. I hope no one actually tries it.

I've thought about DIY orchi but I really don't like things down there and I'm lazy and would rather someone else cut off my junk for me. That's aside from all the other complications that can happen of course..

No, if I am ever that desperate to get a vagina, I would book a flight to Bangkok and pay an experienced cutter like dr Thep Vechavisit 2500$ and he will provide me with something that will mostly look like a vagina.
He even has people visit two shrinks in a nearby hospital who write letters in a matter of an hour.

Doing it yourself is never a good idea.
Especially not in the world of today where you can have an SRS in a matter of days if you go overseas to Thailand or India. They perform them for $2.5-3k USD and they send you to rubber stamp shrinks.

There are more SRS surgeons than Bowers, Brassard,...

Dr R.K Mishra in India charges $ 3K USD for an SRS and he was trained in Texas, US for a while as a surgeon. He is board certified.


No reason to play origami with your genitals on your own.

$2,500. For SRS?? I can't imagine that would look normal or be functional.  SRS isn't something you want to go bargain basement on. I'm going to Brassard. He's very expensive but if my vagina doesn't look and function normally then there would be no point in having SRS at all.

There is a subdivision of Indian TG cally Hijra (spelling) that did it themselves. Quite a long history about them dating back hundreds of years.They are considered very loyal and spiritual. They still exist as a subset of TGs in India. Look them up, they still have strange do it with elders guidence. But I would never recommend DIY for us. It turns out as horribly disfigured, if you dont die from it.

The mind boggles...  Even ignoring the difficulties in seeing, let alone working in that area, what about the pain?  People get a general anesthesia for that sort of work and it's hard to do surgery when you're asleep!  This assumes you'd even know what you're doing medically.
