I've been a long term pursuer of body imaging and fitness,
Going from 279lbs down to 136 lbs over 2 years
of habitual gyming and dieting.
But im curious about waist training as MTF.
At the moment im pre everything but finally i start HRT,
I dont expect to see the fat redistribution effects till further
in due to the fact everyones body processes it differently.
From what i've noticed most people don't really see "hips"
till 6months+ and ive seen for some it can be even longer.
Obviously this is based on chimestry of the body, diet, exercise,
Etc.

Current "curves" if they can be called that in the first place:

Feel free to offer advice or feedback on what i should expect
Or your experiences with hormones.
But the main question...
Does waist training/cinching work?
Does it provide long term effects?

Finally being embraced at work!~

Waist training has advocates and detractors. From what I have learned from waist training web sites is that you really need a lace up corset to get any lasting results and you need to wear the corset most of the day. Many ladies have reported a waist several inches less than before waist training, but as everything else, results are varied and depends on diet to get your waist down to proper size and the amount of time and effort you put into waist training. There are before and after pictures of customers on certain websites, but the best results are after years of wearing corsets almost continuously.

For myself, I had a 52 inch waist many years ago. Through diet and exercise I got it down to 34 inches. I am now trying lace up corsets, but since I live in Florida, the climate here is just not helpful for extended corset wearing. Corsets are uncomfortable, restrict movement and hot! That is hot as in temperature, not appearance!

My results are limited mainly because I do not wear them long enough.

I have not started HRT yet but, I do own a corset.
I purchased a good steel boned corset and started using it 2 years ago and noticed a small lump
under the skin around my last rib on one side. Turns out it was a cyst from wearing the corset too tight so be careful. :) I just wanted to let you know so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Yes they are Hot and uncomfortable but
I did drop from a 33 to a 28. I also exercised regularly and eat right.
Hope this helps.

Thx for the post Anony <3
It was pretty enlightening honestly <3

@ Chelsea:
Yeah ive heard with corsets you have to be
extremely slow for it to be safe...
The complications from extended wear
or typical movement especially working or working out
is normally advised against without certain types of corsets.

@ Dani: i get chu... I was raised in Georgia so i totally can
see the weather impacting you unless youre into sauna training lol

Appreciate the responses~

I too have been into waist training for quite a while now, and have a steel boned corset that I like to wear.  When I first got it, it was super tight, but either it has stretched out a lot, or it has worked some, because I can tighten it all the way down now perfectly comfortably and I haven't lost any weight.  So I think it's about time to get a new little bit smaller one.  I don't have a shape anywhere close to yours though!  I gotta say I'm a bit envious of your shape or at least what I can see of it in that one picture.  I have been on HRT for 7.5 months, and most definitely do have more of a butt now, and slightly more hips, and a slightly narrower waist, but still no where near where I would love to be.

Aww thanks im a gym rat so i guess that works tho ive never been one
for super heavy weight just higher intensities.

<3

As for you myself or anyone we are all starting somewhere in the aspect of transition
We all want a thinner waist etc whatever can feminize more.
I think you look very slim keep at it there are curves starting to give!~
Be cute!

<3

Im glad to see that waist cinching is an option if done responsibly and does
yield results :3

Also glad to see no one has really had bad experiences with fat redistribution so far...
Its only the time that seems to fluctuate <3

I've been trying to shape my body with powerlifting along with HRT now for about 9 months.  I focus on the lower body with the thought that growing my lower body larger will offset an above average size upper body.  It seems to be working, albeit slowly.  When I'm facing the mirror in the gym with the bar on my back I can see proportions starting to take shape.  I'm never going to have really wide hips short of a surgery I don't want but I think I can achieve an athletic look.  Anyway, here's where it's at right now in my gym clothes.  Comparing myself to others right around 60 that I see wandering around during the day I think I'm doing ok, but critiques are welcome.   I am losing a little weight but that gets to be a balancing act between slimming the waist and losing size up top and on the bottom.

The fact youre exercising at all at your age puts you above the rest!
You have such nice posteur and there a waist there though!
<3
Fabulous work.
Everyday is progress, keep at it!

Also powerlifting like any suggestions on exercises i could be doing
Other than the normal mountain climbers, squats, crunches, lunges?

And does working my upper body still remain a good idea?
Most people are afraid of bulking but im sure if i drop my weight a bit and
Just keep up the reps itll keep me toned?
My upper body isnt particularly large my shoulders are only slightly wider enough to notice.

Its nice to see some workout info included here.
Ill definatly start waist training as well just at a slow rate.
Thanks for so much input.

If you are on HRT and your T is low, in the female range, then bulking isn't even possible.  Without the T it is impossible to get big.  However, through other mechanisms you can get very strong without getting big.  For that reason, I do upper body also just to keep things in balance and remain healthy.

For lower body all I do is barbell back squats three times a week, barbell front squats once a week, and barbell deadlifts twice a week.  Those get every muscle in your legs and back and particularly target the hamstrings, quads, glutes, spinal erectors, and abdominals.  I also run 3 times a week with a long run on the weekend.

As an aside, to show what kind of strength is possible, a couple of years ago one of my co-workers was a CIS woman in her 20s.  She was around 5'5" (maybe shorter) and slender.  She also competed nationally in Olympic Style weightlifting and could deadlift 315 lbs.

Also, if you have any interest you can go to YouTube and search "megsquats".  She is also rather small and well proportioned and she deadlifts 400 lbs and squats 300 lbs.  That's way stronger than the average male and stronger even than a whole lot of bigger men who actually work out.

You may run across women on YouTube that have bulked and gotten big.  They got that way with anabolic steroids.  Without all that extra T bulking is not a concern.

The best way in my opinion to get into this is to use the program "Starting Strength". There is a book by that title by Mark Rippetoe on Amazon that goes into several hundred pages of excruciating detail on how it all works and particularly on how to do the big lifts properly to avoid getting hurt.

So I have been using a waist cincher for about 7 years I like to wear it higher to reduce the appearance of my rib cage and have seen great results however it makes it harder to breathe and has caused hemorrhoids in my anus the hemorrhoids have gotten much worse since my GCS 3 weeks ago and will most likely have to be surgically removed at some point in the future. For me the results have been worth the side effects but not everyone would agree I have a high tolerance for pain as well so think carefully about using waist cinchers. If you're dysphoria is strong enough that the results outweigh the consequences than it may be right for you.
Hope This Helps

Chelsea - If you wear a cincher/corset for x amount of hours per day for an extended peiord of time, how long does the effect last before your body changes back?  ( I assume the body tries to..?) Thanks.
Scarlet - same question as above.
anyone else with input appreciated as I am seriously considering doing this.

Sonja.

It doesn't last long after you take if off. No more than a hour I guess, but I think it helped a lot over time.
I still wear it sometime but am using a shaper now from ebay.  I am very happy with it.
Sorry for the delay as I just seen your question. :)

Supposedly, if worn right, over time they can shape your rib cage.  Just like with any constant pressure method like braces on your teeth.  Putting just the right pressure over a long period of time, causes your teeth to move.  Teeth that normally are quite fixed.  So it makes sense, that over a long period of time, your ribs and things should actually begin to mold to the shape the corset is trying to squeeze them into.

Chelsea - Thx,  an hour isn't long, but long enough for a photo shoot!  lol
You mentioned a shaper,  whats the difference between a cincher, shaper and a corset?
Cheers,
Sonja.

Wow.  They really help if you wear them a few hours a day. I used them everyday at work for 2 years and
