Jamina

Hi all! I'm Jamina (or just Mina) and I'm a mid-40s MTF living in London, UK. I'm still a trans* baby; I came out to myself about eighteen months ago, and since then have been edging closer and closer to transition. I've signed up here for all the usual reasons, chat and support and so on, as I navigate a somewhat meandering path through transition via the UK medical system; I'm on the cusp of making my social transition a more full-time thing and hope to start HRT later in the year.

I'm a musician, working mostly as a guitar teacher these days, and am currently retraining as a programmer in the hope of being a bit more comfortable and a bit more myself in a less public role. I'm a keen (vegan) cook, married to an amazing, accepting woman who's the love of my life. We have a young daughter and two adorable cats.

Thanks for having me and looking forward to some fine conversations =)

Hi Mina 🙋 Welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm Jessica.  There are a number of members in the UK.  I'm sure they will say hello also.  There are a number of musicians here.  We are talking about making a band named the "Tran Sisters"

I see your new here, so I'll post some links that may help you get better acquainted with the site. Then join in on a topic you find interesting and learn and share.

Things that you should read

Megan.

Hi Mina,  I'm a 40 y/o mtf trans-woman from Bedfordshire. I've been full time for 11 months now,  and I work in IT, a very open minded and accepting bunch of people [emoji5].
I and others have quite a bit of experience with the UK nhs process, so please ask questions if you have them.
Good luck! X

Hello Mina, I see that you are new here and may have questions and concerns, this is the right place for you to be to find out what others have done that may have been in your circumstances.

WELCOME to Susan's Place.  You will find this a safe and friendly place to share with others about your transition and to read about others transition and their trials, tribulations, and successes in their transition journey.
It is nice that you have signed up so you can share with others and involve yourself with some give and take with other members.
When frustrated or if you have a successful moment in your journey you can share it here if you wish and receive support from others and offer support to others. You might even find that you will make some new friends here.  Please come in and get involved at your own pace.
Again, Welcome.
Danielle

smart_michelle

Hi Mina!

I'm Michelle, not quite full time yet here in Yorkshire until I change jobs but spending up to half the week on average as Michelle nowadays including volunteering in a charity shop. Awaiting some feedback from my GP as to a referral etc. Immediate family and parents all good with it all but still some family to tell.

I'd be up for anything musical - I play clarinet (main instrument) but also a bit of piano and guitar.

Very welcoming folk on here!

take care
Michelle x
