These are the reunions that help me

Ms Bev

Several nights ago, Marcy and I bumped into a close mutual friend from church. She had come in with a male friend who stayed a polite half-minute, then excused himself with a "Goodnight ladies".
I hadn't seen her in over a year, and before long, she asked Marcy about 'Mike'.
Marcy pulled me tightly to her side, smiled and said, "this is Mike, she goes by her middle name now..... Beverly".
My friend wasn't flustered, but looked at me for a few long, surreal seconds.  Her smile changed ever so subtly.  The difference in that smile was a woman's special smile, a smile for one woman from another.
She was very close....inches away, and had just come in from the cold.  I could feel crisp air radiate from her face, she was that close.  She just continued to smile, and looked very deeply into my eyes.
"Yes," she said, "I can see it in your eyes.  You have Mike's eyes".
She gave me a hug, and pressed her cheek against mine.  "It's good to see you again....." she said, and gave me a little kiss on the cheek.

These are the reunions that help me forget the bad ones.
