I recently found out i was outed by my daughter to a few of her friends about 10 years ago.  so they have always known i was trans and now they are in there early 20s.  they recently brought up knowing i was trans because one of them is having some major dysphoria and is wanting to transition to male.  he already wears binders and all that.

i went from being someone he buys mom cards for to now a mentor when i did not want to be out in the first place.  funny thing is i felt at ease in the roll.  my daughter says she is glad that he has me to talk to.

being outed makes me want to cry, but helping makes me feel great and its nice to have someone i can chat with that is also trans.  i am feeling a amalgam of emotions and a great sense of conflict within becuase a year ago i would have denied i was trans and there was a misunderstanding.

i just wanted to share what im going through

Always

Kids are the most understanding. It definitely shows how much he trusts you to open himself up and ask for any guidance you can give him.

A lifetime of depression and repressed emotions is nothing more than existence. I for one want to live now not just exist!

These are ppl who have stayied freindly, and they kept this a secret for all those years from you, its safe to say they support you as a person regardless of gender.

You may have been a stelth mentor over the years to these kids as it shows anything is possible.

The negitive feelings may steam from information being hidden from you, be proud of who you are and your journey, it sounds like you can do some real good for him x

Being outed happens.  In my case I came out to a short list of attorney friends at court and at some point the knowledge went viral.  But everyone has been so nice about it that I have no complaints.
