Congrats Kat! I am almost a year post with Dr. Brassard. I can't say enough good things about my experience there! I think I experienced the same thing as in a cancellation. They gave me 10 days! I was out of the country and had less than a week once I got back. I found their information as to readiness prep and material lists to be good. I made sure that I had everything I needed for when I returned home ready. I bought some things from the nurses at the centre, such as lube, and this was a real money saver. The B and B was super and all the after care in the recovery centre was wonderful. Met some super women who shared the experience there! I loved getting picked up and delivered! A real treat.
I found that the experiences of the nine of us who had surgery over a period of two days, were different. As in any medical procedure, each person responds differently, whether it is to pain, meds
or healing. I seemed to cruise through the days and did not need anything more than extra strength Tylenol.
I don't know how far you are travelling (I had to travel across country) but make sure you wear something comfortable. Sitting can be very uncomfortable. I made sure that I was on the isle on the plane so that I could easily stand or go for a walk.
Five weeks will happen quickly! Soon you will be in Montreal and then back home! All the Best! Please keep us up to date as to your progress!
