I was thinking it could be helpful to hear about other people's results on hrt around the 6 month mark, specifically, but open to anyone. Reflecting back is encouraged, if you're accurate! Lol

I would say it's a super slow process. For anyone starting hrt, definitely make sure to keep working, going to school etc. if you can to take your mind off of things. It's kind of like vitamins, but of course doctor appointments/check ups and blood tests are needed too. Hrt is definitely not just vitamins, but looking back (and forward) that's how I would approach taking them. Even slower than vitamins actually. More like weight loss of over 200 pounds, it takes time and effort. And then you have that left over skin, and you have to wait for it to reattach to your muscles and tighten to your body again. That slow, if not slower I don't know and I can't lose 200 lbs to find out.

Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone but at my 6 month mark I wish my friend gave me a descriptive explanation of how slow hrt works. Oh it's like growing out hair from a buzz cut.. yeah I'm doing that too lol

Well anyway, the good things so far is that I'm (hopefully) on track to where I need to go. For once I feel like I'm not failing myself if that makes sense. I used to feel an emptiness of something missing and I think it's (very) slowly starting to fill up...

What are your experiences? It could just be physical changes too! My skin is different but I'm not sure what changed about it. My hair seems to be growing faster on my head but slower almost everywhere else. Fat on my body that I've been gaining is going to my lower body. I don't think it's moved around for me though.

Amazing!! I can't wait to continue to see your updates and growth inside and out [emoji4]

I really liked that you mentioned pride. I think, and I could be wrong, that's the opposite shame. Something I know I struggled with but didn't understand.. it's really interesting a lot of emotions are similar that we reflect on. Even experiences in life, I mean we're all so different, yet we're really not?!

Thank you for your kind words, I also posted a 7 month update. This past month has been pretty crummy for me mentally, but it wasn't trans related, anyway here it is if you're interested.

At six months, I was still gendered male, but looked slightly different according to my co-workers.

Hi!  I am about 5 1/2 months on HRT and have increased <no dosages please>, my E levels are in the therapeutic range but only around 100 so I have further to goo to get to around 200.  I WILL AGREE 100% SLOW, SLOW, SLOW...

I do feel much better and I constantly hear I look younger, but I also am moisturizing my skin, and of course...finally ...shaving!  I imagine that my waist is starting to form higher up my body, but that seems hopeful at 57!  I have lost around 40 pounds and need to lose about 70 more to get to a reasonable weight.  I am using Rogaine and propecia so not sure if HRT is helping with that.  I only have to shave my legs every couple weeks, but my face twice a day if my skin can tolerate it.  I definitely am feeling some mood swings and often feel like a teenager with some of the moods I have.

I hope that helps a little in that we can commiserate over being impatient!

Hugs and Kisses Marcie!

...it makes me smile to know its me, fearful about losing the good things in my life, anxious about every single step, doubting my resolve, determined to stop living a lie,  VERY hopeful for the future as myself, Marcie, and I am thankful to have this safe place
