I lost a ton of weight when I started HRT. I went from 175 pounds to 136 in like 4 months. That happened in the beginning of last year, and so far I have stayed at exactly 136. I did not exercise during the time of weight loss so it must have been caused by HRT. I will say that I used to consume a lot of sugar, but I cut it all out so maybe that has something to do with it.

Hi everyone.

What has your experience been with HRT and weight loss or gain ?

Since Sept I have lost close to 20 pounds and I would like to lose another 15.

Thanks.

my experience in 6 months of HRT is gaining 10-15lbs.  All the weight is in my chest and around my hips and thighs.

I have an eating disorder so this is really disturbing to me (the weight).  But at the same time i really want my lower half to fill out.  But somehow I had the idea that i'd just get super skinny on top.  LOL

i really don't understand how anybody loses weight on HRT.  I eat LESS per day than I used to (and i get more physical activity) and i still gained weight.  I know, because I have a log of every calorie I've eaten for years (eating disorder LOL)

I dropped 65 lbs over the previous 10 months. It started coming off pretty steady since I started estrogen.
The last two weeks was another 8 lbs drop.
My counsellor said some can be attributed to expending extra energy to do the same work due to a reduction in muscle mass from the HRT. Don't know but it feels good to drop it even if it costs me more to resize clothing.
