Anybody out there who is a musician, did your hands shrink and if they did, did it become harder to play your instrument?

I am interested in all instruments but especially keyboards. And so you think you picked up dexterity in your hands from HRT?
When you finally figure out the person you want to be for the rest of your life, you want the rest of your life to start right now - what Harry would have said to Sally if he were one of us. ( but slower is better!)

I don't know that my hands have gotten any smaller, but in my transition, I feel more comfortable with long nails....which messes up fingering the guitar, but better for plucking strings.

The only thing I have noticed so far is a very slight change in my sense of touch. Hard to describe, but I don't think it would effect ability to play any instruments.

Pretty sure my hands have stayed the size they always were.  My wrists actually shrunk some (go figure), but my length & width of the fingers remained.  Now if you do lip or jaw surgery or something that affects the embouchure, expect flute playing or clarinet, etc.. to be problematic at least for a while.

Hands cant shrink as the size is dictated by your bone structure which no effect even 1% by HRT. Dont fret or fret however you take this. I personally fret.
Awww no my little kitten gif site is gone :( sad.

I agree with LilDevilOfPrada.
Even if your hands did shrink though, you would still be able to adapt to the situation. That's part of being human.

I have been playing guitar for decades sadly my hands did not change with HRT, I had short finger before and still do.
What has changed is my ear in my choice of chord voicings, touch has also changed this may be due to changes in hand strength or the elasticity of my tendons. Another change is the emotions I feel when I play they now have more depth and variation.

(I play guitar and E-Keyboard)

While my fingers got smaller and thinner, (60% approx.), it did require me to retrain myself a bit. I actually find it Easier now. But when using a piano or keyboard, it requires ALOT more hand movement than before.

Although, make no mistake. I am an amateur at these instruments. I only ever played as a hobby. (removed my recommendations)
Its also a note, you can experience your hands, legs, torso, and feet shrinking. as all of these have occurred to me over the course of HRT. So you will still have to (possibly) re-train your motions, as your rhythm may feel off.

But as was said above, you will adapt ^_^

My body, including overall height, feet and fingers have shrunk measurably. My PCP has it on file because it caused me to get flagged as an undiagnosed condition. this was before I informed them, that i was undergoing Hormone Treatment. (it was a rather embarrassing time in my life)

But, it's all certainly possible. Fat stores, cartilage and muscle thickness all contribute to the size of your body. These are all affected by hormones. - Bones, as far as i am aware are not, sadly. though.

Haven't seen any changes in regards to my hands, and I play guitar for my metal band.
