Ok hopefully that peaked at least someones interest to respond. Maybe someone else experiences this.  I'm 'special' and not necessarily in a good way BUT some of the issues (ok many) should be familiar.

The vaginal opening is raw often about 1-2 days out of a couple weeks... usually when I decided to have an inkling to start dilating again.  This might be exacerbating it..  but what I don't get is the sharp needle pain that feels like nerves reconnecting.  AGAIN.  And keep in mind my genital reconstruction was back in 2001.  Oh it also happens after I haven't dilated too... so I doubt that's the case generally.

I know nerves to regrow, thats not a foreign concept but this feels different.  I'd ask my local gynecologist but most seem to be (no offense) blithering idiots when it comes to these issues.  THIS I know far too well.  I'm going to yet another specialist up further away but she seems to specialize in these particular disorders I am having.

Its not a yeast infection I drink tons of water & eat plenty of low suger non fat yogurt.  I also have excessive vaginal discharge at times that stains things.  Gross I know.. and I swear its tinted with blood.  Yet I have no granulated scar tissue.  I highly doubt its a period...things aren't connected right.

Am I once again in a very strange obscure boat of my own with no help and noone to commiserate with?  Its so frustrating.  I absolutely do not regret the surgery... not even in the slightest.  I just wish I wasn't tender down there alot.

Suggestions & tips always welcome.  Of course the standard antifungal creams do help, and I use them too.
Gah.

OH I did too, the 'electric eel' as nerves regrow.. this is different in a way, almost like something jabbing. Oh well.

Don't suppose it's possible there are sutures still in there?

Highly unlikely .. That area has been looked at in both MRI's & ultrasounds & such. If it continues I might press my ob/gyn but... its probably going to be another one of those 'things' that noone knows.

Doreen,
One year post op now. The pins and needles stopped a while again, like 3 or 4 months. Lately  I have been getting more blunt pain feelings on the left labia side. It seems to happen when more active and it comes and goes. Not sure if this qualifies as similar.
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

My body is a lesson in random feelings that are strange.  Like I still feel inguinal pain on both sides of the body, more so on the left where I had a hernia operation when I was 16.  I also swear I feel a mass inside there though allegedly nothing was seen.  Literally a palpable mass in the pain location. Obviously it has me concerned.  The random stabbing sensation.. not quite that bad but close comes inside the vaginal canal.  Of course that doesn't even begin to touch my cramping & constant abdominal issues.

I'm by no means a hypochondriac, personally if all my pain mysteriously vanished no doc would see me again in some time.  Sadly this isn't the case.  Being medically trained .. complicates matters too sometimes I think when the docs think I know more than I should, they tend to balk when I ask them too.   Its a fine line to walk.

I'm a  mess, reaching out for anything comparable.  Maybe it is similar . It could be :)

As your desperate, I am going to offer up a dumb suggestion. It might be soap, body lotion or even body secretions that are not being cleaned away. I have started double rinsing my clothes to make sure the soap is out and it seems to have stopped some of the itching. I also spend a little extra time in the shower making sure there isn't any soap on my bottom. Told you it was a dumb idea.

Oh its not so dumb actually I do have excessive secretions lately, and have been washing them out gently.  I try to avoid using soap or anything harsh intravaginally and haven't douched like ever.  If I have to I'll use yogurt or a crushed acidophillus pill if I feel a yeast infection coming, but its been pretty rare since I've had one.  The first sign is a horrible itch and that lovely feeling of peeing razor blades & fire at the same time.  ^THAT^ feeling I will never ever ever forget.

Part of the reason I post these things? I know folks read them.  Maybe someone will experience this and will remember some of the things discussed here too.  My own silly way of nursing education continuation.  Plus ya it bugs me lol.  SO many things bug me, especially things that so far have no answers. I'm a seeker of solutions not denier of problems anymore :)
