So just today had someone insist Im a guy and when I defended myself he was like all annoyed because I wouldnt say Im a man. So he said he was a doctor and when I called him out on that he is no doctor with how he is acting, he got mad and continued to say Im a man. I was disgusted by his attitude! What an arrogant ignorant creep! Im glad I never have to meet him in real life because I would seriously go off on him for being so disgusting.

Happens. My wife does that all the time. From a stranger just ignore and walk away who cares what they think? The only person who knows who you really are is you.

Oh my gosh it's one of the most heartbreaking parts of my job, when I have to be that person.  By law we have to treat people as and house the according to what they have between their legs.  Males pat down search males, females search females.  I've had a few occasions where I had to search a girl, which is a very violating and invasive process, just because she had a penis.  I feel like a rapist every time.

Like too many in our culture some doctors are not knowledgable, compassionate and are lacking in empathy.  I used to have a three year old girl (her parents are good friends) who made that kind of public announcement for me and we can't expect much from kids but it seems like the good doctor missed out on cultural competence 101.

Since I am not expecting to be passable or blend in I have also adopted a policy of educating where possible but recognizing some will remain willfully ignorant and immune to reason.  I own my image and my identity and we don't owe anyone an explanation or defense for their dumb assumptions.  What others think is not our responsibility and often not worthy of our efforts to respond IMO.

It's even harder for me I think because even though I consider myself a girl, I also consider myself a tomboy too who is fine in a hoodie, jeans and shirt or whatever listening to korn but would like to express the girl in me. Who wants to be seen as a girl but being that Im transgender, if some people hear me say Im also a tomboy, they think Im a guy.

Look at avril lavigne if anyone remembers her, she was totally a tomboy but a girl too. It's much how I am. I like all the pretty girl stuff but am also very much the type of girl that would put on a hoodie, cap and be fine.

I always have thought more like a girl and just because I say Im a tomboy does not mean Im a guy. Some people in the world however dont get it.

Hopefully you don't have this happen again, but if so, ask "A doctor of what? Mechanical engineering? It certainly wasn't in medicine!". Doctorates are issued in many fields and are often required for teaching so it's very possible this guy didn't have a clue what "doctor" implies and thus wasn't even a doctorate in anything.

So what if he is.  I am also a doctor—of jurisprudence.  And the courts of my state say I'm a woman and that ends it.

That argument is an impasse with some people.

With those types to cut it in the bud I just say "yeah, biologically I'm X but I can't live like that and it's a matter of whether I get busy living or get busy dying. Insist what you want, it doesn't matter to me."
"If the freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter."

Stupid is as stupid does! People like this lack the ability to stand on their own. He see's you standing proud in your true self, and because he is not confident in his self, he lashes out.
I get this kind of stuff all of the time and personally I just say what I am is me! If you don't like it then go <not allowed>yourself.
If you went to a doctors appointment and the Doctor kept arguing your sexuality I would find another doctor.

Couldnt agree more! Im just so glad that he was just some random guy saying he was a doctor and not actually my doctor. Id be so mad if it was my doctor spewing the kind of trash he was sayin!

You would think some would be happier about like me trying to be me but some just dont want the same thing I do for me I guess.

I once had a lady spit on me and put her finger in my face as she screamed how I should be ashamed of myself.
I had to stop myself from doing something to here that I would have been ashamed of later on. Instead I just stood proud and told her I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
Ok I was way in her face when I said it, but she got the point.[emoji51]

So she assaulted you and yelled at you, I think she should of been ashamed of herself!

I agree . She was an old lady stuck in her religious beliefs to the extreme.  I'm glad I did not hurt her and feel sorry for her bigotry riddled heart.

Lady Sarah

We live in a world where many see everything as black and white. Gray infuriates them, since (in their minds) gray should not exist. Or to put it another way, they think everyone is either a round peg or a square peg. Triangles or hexagons infuriate them. Periodically, I wondered if I should feel sorry for them, with their highly limited intellect. When it is apparent that they choose to think that way, I turn my back on them and walk away.
