Hi all,
I've been on Susan's for a few weeks now, but have never posted my introduction, so here I am.  My first post was about my fear of possibly being trasgender.  I listed why I thought I was trans and why I was afraid of confirming it.  So many of you suggested that I seek gender therapy and I did.  I've been to two sessions and am going back to my next appointment in less than two weeks.  My therapist and I have been talking about my past and present gender expressions and experiences, and it turns out that my fear became a reality - I am, in fact, transgender.  My therapist did not say I'm trans, since she told me that it was up to me and only me to decide, but she very much alluded to the fact that I am indeed transgender.  I'm not so afraid of this as I was during my first visit to Susan's, but I don't have all of the answers to my gender identity either.  There are still fears in me in dealing with my gender such as coming out, transitioning, and other such uncertainties, but I have accepted myself for who I am and am taking this journey one day at a time.  Thank you all for pushing me toward therapy.  It was definitely the right call and I look forward to my next session!!!

Hello Danielle:  Since I saw that you were already sent a Welcome Message from Jessica on one of the first threads you posted on after you signed up as a member, I will save you from reading my Welcome Message.... except I do want you to know that I am glad that you here and posting in various threads and topics.

There are many here that share your concerns and questions and as you post and read other's posts you can read what other like mind members have to share and you likewise can also share...  and more than likely you will make some friends here on Susan's Place.

Be certain to look at the LINKS that @Jessica included at the end of her official Welcome Message to you.  There you will find information about how to use the Susan's Place site and also find out what some of the rules are here...

You will find this a safe and friendly place to share your story.

Hugs from another Danielle

Danielle, it is a huge step, talking openly with someone who understands what you are going through.  To understand yourself from examining parts of your life that has given you the signs that have led you in this direction.
And it is a scary thing, to reject what you've always been told.  To feel you need to become who you really are, against societal norms.  But we are becoming part of the norm.....

I'm glad you have posted this introduction, it's a great way for others to meet you!

Hugs and smiles, Jessica

Hi Danielle!

Congratulations on such a huge breakthrough! Everything is one step at a time, and transitioning does not seem to be any exception. I think acceptance of ourselves for who and what we are is probably the biggest step of all. I have found, for myself, that after that things are easier if I tackle one little thing by itself and then the next...and the next. I am still early in my transition as well...almost but not quite on HRT...but I feel more secure and happier each day that I wake up and realize that I am on a path I always should have been on. I hope the same for you. Best wishes and I look forward to seeing you around!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!  I'm grateful for you all for giving me a place to come to in my quest to find myself.  Besides my therapist, I have no one else to talk to about my transgender journey except for Susan's.  For years I dealt with this myself and finally realized that it's too much for me to deal with alone, and you have all given me not only a place to go online, but by suggesting gender therapy I also have someone I can talk to face to face.  Thank you all so very much!!!
