For me, it was literally a few hours. I felt calm in a way I never had. The effects on mood and mental clarity were nearly immediate.

As far actually seeing visible changes, I'm at 5 weeks on Spiro and Estradiol and nothing visible yet (besides some weight loss, which is likely not due to HRT).

I started experiencing some skin softening on my hands around two weeks. In the last week I have noticed my cheeks getting softer.

Ryliez, to answer your question about HRT...First, mark Monday's date down in your journal or on your calendar....  this will be a memorable time in your transition journey.
Now that you have announced this to all of the Susan's Place members on the Forums you will have to keep us all updated with your progress...  there will be things for you to tell us about, your successes, your frustrations, your good times and your bad times but do know that as your journey continues you will become the "new you" given enough time for the HRT to do it's work in your body.

For some, HRT will work more quickly and result in quicker and more significant body changes... and for some HRT can work more slowly and produce slower and less significant results ....   it is all up to your own unique body.   So what you read about others HRT results may likely not be your own experience.
One thing that I tell everyone that starts HRT is that "patience is required"  ...  usually nothing happens very quickly with HRT, or at least not a quickly as we all desire.
Patience is a virtue!

Our human nature says "We want it all and we want it NOW"  ...
...so again be patient and stay the course, soon enough you will start becoming the new you.

Hugs, and well wishes.
Danielle

Welcome to the group. I'm going on two months and a week. People say my face has gotten slimmer and I've noticed my muscle to fat ratio change. It's hard not to get over analyzing since I've been waiting so long to let the real me out. I'm so glad you started your journey. Again welcome. Jade [emoji847]

Jessica

Hi Ryliez 🙋‍♀️ Welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm Jessica.
Danielle has welcomed you to a great opportunity to meet others that have gone through or going through what your about to experience.  And she is correct that everyone is unique and the medication affects us all differently.  One factor is your genetics.  Look at your mother or sisters And you may see your future, and that still a "may".  Other factors can and will make a difference.

As far as anyone else's medications, that is another unique prescription for each individual and can only determined by a doctor.  I imagine that your doctor has done this for you, and will adjust it as you proceed.

Don't forget to read the site rules, they can be of great value, and they keep us all happy.

Hugs and smiles, Jessica

Hey all thank you for the welcome and the replies.
I am so excited but also worried about it (obviously like the increased risk of DVT and stuff but I have not really heard of anyone getting it and apparently its just for the doctors to cover there self's)
Im 27 so im hoping hte results will be decent im kinda scared that im to old now for the changes to matter or really be that good.

But im not even a week on Hormones yet so hopefully i will notice the changes fast im using patches there like super hard to get off once i put it on so any advice with getting them off would be AMAZING! :)

I was told that after 3 months I will need to be tested again and see how my hormone levels are doing.

To keep the risk in perspective: your risk has increased to where it is equal to that of cis women.  Not really a thing to worry about if you have no other risk factors.

Don't worry about your age.  You are just a young whippersnapper.  I started at age 61.  There are lots of us here who started HRT in our 50s and 60s (even 70s!), who are doing just fine.

Everyone's results are different, of course, but I have had adequate breast development (a solid A cup after 16 months; more would be nice), changes in body hair, skin softness, and my eyes and lips are totally different and quite feminine.

I started at 43 and as you can see from the profile picture the results have been quite satisfying so far. Good sized c cup and my figure has changed in the right direction. In addition my face looks a lot more feminine,  body hair growth has stopped or the hairs have become invisible, I have softer skin and nicer hair, AND the dysphoria is all but gone. So yeah... you are never too old. As for removing patches just rip em off. The glue says put around the edges but I found that the GENTLE version of nail polish remover gets it off really easily. remember to give the area a little wash down after though.

Not sure if all patches are the same but instructions with mine say to use baby oil to remove sticky residue once you've pulled off the patch, which I find works really well. And best of luck with your changes!

My biggest issue is my shoulders... hoping that a lot of the size is due to fat/muscle.

Thanks for the supportive words... I mean its not even been a week for me yet. I just wish it would be quicker but this week has been so slow! lol
