I started thinking that it would be enjoyable to read fictional romance stories for or about transgender people. Then I thought about the difficulties in doing something like that. For cis folks or gay folks I can imagine that this is pretty straight forward. For trans folk, I see so many complications. Let's face it, there are varied, strong opinions on how a woman/man acts. A short term relationship with a trans attracted person could be appealing to one and be repulsive to another. Then there are the different levels of transition, body parts, views of self disclosure, cross dressing. Not looking to stir up our differences, but I have two questions. Do you think this would be hard to do? Do you know of anyone who writes 'mature' stories about trans people?

Are we talking tawdry stuff like I appreciate, or the kind where Fabio sweeps you off your feet on a wild stallion?

I think I read one where Fabio the pirate stumbles over a Bostonian wench who is out racoon hunting in a blizzard. She overcomes him and drags him off to a secret dungeon and waits listening for the sound of a lorry's engine slowly get closer over the great USA divide.......Will Fabio be rescued by an aerial intervention from Florida? Will the Seattle siren fly in unannounced?

The" She Came at the Glass Heel" series is pretty good.

She Came at the Glass Heel

She Came at the Glass Heel is a lush, sex-positive novella series that follows the intimate journeys of transgender women who step into the alluring world of The Glass Heel—a secretive, trans-centered nightclub nestled in the heart of Chicago. Each story unfolds over a single weekend—Friday, Saturday, or Sunday—as a different woman crosses the threshold of the club and encounters a night that will leave her changed forever.

The Glass Heel is more than a nightclub. It's a liminal space, a sanctuary of shadow and light where identity softens, desire sharpens, and transformation becomes possible. For some, it's a place to escape the world. For others, it's where they finally find themselves. Within its velvet walls and candlelit corners, women rediscover touch, pleasure, and the erotic power of being truly seen.

While each novella stands alone, recurring figures drift through the series like constellations. At the center is Echo Dela Cruz, the club's elegant and enigmatic owner, a trans woman whose calm intensity and whispered wisdom seem to meet each guest exactly where they are. Julian Reyes tends bar with quiet compassion, remembering every face and every drink. And around them move lovers, strangers, queens, ghosts, and seekers—some just passing through, others returning again and again.

Set over the course of a year, the series offers a complete calendar of weekends, with four novellas for each month. Together, they weave a tapestry of queer intimacy and erotic revelation. Some stories are tender and soft; others dive into kink, play, and power. But all of them center trans women as full protagonists—desiring, desired, flawed, radiant, and real.

She Came at the Glass Heel is a love letter to femme joy, queer nightlife, and the quiet courage it takes to show up in your own skin. It's a story of bodies becoming sacred, sex becoming sanctuary, and women claiming the right to be not only seen—but wanted.

In the amber glow of The Glass Heel, every weekend is a new beginning.

All Books in the Series

First Step (Included with Kindle Unlimited.)

First Step is an intimate, emotionally charged novella about the courage it takes to show up as yourself—and the magic that can happen when you do.

Claire, a transgender woman, stands at the edge of a snowy Chicago night, invitation in hand, heart pounding. Tonight is her first time stepping out into the world as herself, wrapped in an emerald dress she's never dared to wear. Her destination is The Glass Heel—a secretive, trans-centered nightclub whispered about online as a place of acceptance and transformation.

Inside, the club glows with amber light and velvet shadows. Claire expects to feel out of place, but instead, she is seen. A kind bartender offers her a drink without question. The club's owner, Echo, welcomes her like someone who's been expected. And Elena—the woman in crimson—meets Claire with a gaze that cuts through every layer of self-doubt.

Over the course of one unforgettable night, Claire and Elena move from curiosity to connection, from glances to touch. In the club's private Rose Room, their intimacy deepens. Elena doesn't just undress Claire—she sees her. She guides her through fear, desire, and pleasure without rushing, allowing Claire to surrender not just her body, but her shame.

In the golden hush of morning, Claire finds herself changed—not by anyone else, but by the act of finally choosing herself. The mirror doesn't lie. She is not half-formed or unfinished. She is Claire. Real. Desired. Whole.

First Step is the opening novella in the She Came at the Glass Heel series—a sensual, affirming collection of stories centered on transgender women discovering love, desire, and self-acceptance in a nightclub built for transformation. Lyrical, erotic, and tender, it's a story about becoming the woman you've always been, and taking that first brave step into your own light.

Room 312 (Included with Kindle Unlimited.)

Room 312 is a queer romance set against the backdrop of a blizzard-bound Chicago sanctuary: The Glass Heel nightclub and The Heel's Nest hotel above it.

The story follows Lena Marquez, a trans travel journalist for Queer Compass, who arrives at The Nest to profile the hidden hotel. What begins as professional curiosity transforms into something far more intimate when she meets Adrian Vega, the charismatic concierge. Trapped together by a brutal snowstorm, Lena and Adrian's connection deepens through midnight conversations, quiet dances in the empty club, and nights in the opulent "Muse's Retreat" of Room 312.

As the blizzard rages, Lena learns The Heel is more than a hotel—it is a queer sanctuary curated by the enigmatic owner Echo, who preserves history while creating spaces of transformation. Through encounters with staff like Miko the bartender and guests who have made the Nest their home, Lena witnesses the profound ways the club and hotel offer belonging, desire, and authenticity for trans women and those who love them.

At its core, Room 312 is a sensual, deeply emotional love story between Lena and Adrian. Their passion is tender and grounded in the vulnerability of two people who normally keep their worlds carefully separated—Adrian as a consummate professional, Lena as a wanderer who never stays in one place long enough to fall in love. The snowstorm creates a liminal space where those rules no longer apply.

But as the storm clears and reality intrudes, Lena must face the fleeting nature of their time together. The novel balances intimate romance with themes of queer history, sanctuary, and transformation, all culminating in one unforgettable final night in Room 312—a night of love, memory, and promise, even as departure looms.

Neon Diner  (Included with Kindle Unlimited.)

Neon Diner tells the story of Lily Warren, a 29-year-old transgender woman navigating the pressures of her corporate life, and Devon Carter, a 32-year-old transgender man whose steady exterior hides a quiet longing for connection. Both are drawn to The Glass Heel, a nightclub where outsiders find belonging under velvet light, but it is beyond the club's walls where their story begins to unfold.

Set against the winter streets of Chicago, the novel moves between the charged energy of the nightclub and the softer glow of a neon-lit diner, a space where Lily and Devon can begin to be themselves without performance. Over meals, laughter, and unhurried conversations, they discover that intimacy grows not only in the heat of attraction but in the everyday rhythm of being known.

Chicago itself becomes part of their journey-the pulse of the city, its hidden sanctuaries and ordinary corners, all shaping how two people learn to trust themselves and each other. The contrast between the glamour of The Glass Heel and the unassuming booths of the diner underscores the novel's central theme: that love is found not only in heightened moments of spectacle, but also in the quiet spaces where honesty has room to breathe.

Tender, atmospheric, and deeply human, Neon Diner is about two people reaching across boundaries of fear, class, and expectation to find something lasting. It is a meditation on belonging and recognition, showing how sanctuary can be found not just in places of allure, but also in the glow of a neon diner sign on a cold Chicago night.
