I've been ardently consuming every bit of information I can on this site since late last summer. Once I exhausted all of the relevant FTM postings I moved on to following the threads created by several of the amazing women on this site to document their successes and struggles. I've learned so much here.
I am way late in joining and introducing myself, so here goes.
My name is Perry, I'm FTM, 61 years young living in So. Cal. I administered my second testosterone shot just last Monday. I retired from my career 4.5 years ago and have been working since then for a contractor to my previous employer on a part time basis.
My earliest memories are of wanting to be a boy. At 15 Mom asked me if I wanted to be a boy. Since it was the 70's and I'm co-dependent I immediately said NO. She never asked again, dang it. Last October I told her I was planning to transition. She said okay and accepted it and me, expressing that she just wanted me to be happy. My start with HRT was stalled due to some medical issues for me and for her. Unfortunately, she passed last weekend and I won't get to show her my true self. I'll write more on these feeling in another posting.
So far, immediate family and close friends who I've come out to have been overwhelmingly supportive. (Received a great card in the mail today from friends I came out to on Sunday.) Even family I thought would need more time were immediately behind me. I am a very lucky guy!
I'll save more of my story for other posts so as not to bore anyone.
Thanks for reading and thanks for your participation in this wonderful community. I hope to help others as I have been helped.
Regards,
Perry
