Hi all,

We had an election yesterday where Ontario elected Doug Ford, the leader of the "Progressive" Conservative party, as our new Premier.  For those not from Ontario, he's the brother of former Toronto mayor Rob Ford.  He became Premier with lots of backing from the social religious conservative crowd.  The Premier and these supporters have a lot of contempt for LGBT people.  They've been complaining loud and long about the new sex-ed curriculum for public schools.  One of the main reasons is the curriculum supports LGBT kids.

Ontario has paid for GCS for a few years now.  I'm very concerned this will soon end.  Does anyone else share this worry?  You often here people from these groups complaining that this is a vain optional surgery and takes health care funding from real needy individuals.  We know this is BS but I could see them doing this.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if they also rescinded the law that outlawed reparative therapy.

Are previous Premier was a lesbian.  This really bothered the social conservatives.

The world has just been flipped upside down for us.
Take care,
Paige :)

There's that and a lot of other things to worry about.  He's one of those "savings and efficiencies" types, where they claim they'll cut taxes through cutting costs, when they really mean cutting jobs.  It's something that happened with the last PC government at both the provincial and federal level.  There's a reason he's called "Trump Lite".  His brother was certainly a disgrace as mayor.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

I do totally see this coming, and am scared that will happen. I know the unions and NDP plan to try to stop anything from being cut but again brings us back to Mike Harris days  cut everything I may end up losing my job too
