I've always struggled with body image. Since I hit puberty, I hated my size and I did all sorts of diets. What I didn't realize was that being on testosterone would actually make that worse for me. I want to look like a "normal" boy". I want the 6-pack abs and the tight arms.... I'm not that. I am overweight and I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I feel emasculated in a sense. I dunno. It just sucks.

The normal boy does not have six pack abs or tight arms. The normal boy in today's world is flabby.

Six pack abs and muscles just don't happen by magic. You have to work for them with a pretty strict diet and the right exercise.

check out hasfit.com for some easy to hard videos. Its free and they are easy to do anywhere. Between my wife and myself we lost 100 pounds.

Really you just gotta do the exercise and eat right, thats whats going to help and it will take a long time, so stick with it even if you think its not working.

I too suffer from some body dysphoria. What has helped for me is also going to sites like mybodygallery.com it has an extensive women's section and a smaller men's section but you may find it helpful to realize that that jacked body you are after is not the "normal" or default position.

Good luck.

Before transition, even at my manliest I never had more than a four pack.  And that took a lot of crunches and a lot of dieting.

The good news for you is, being on T makes it easier to lose weight and build muscle.  These days on E I have to work twice as hard and diet like a fiend just to fight the love handles and the muffin top.

My son has a jacked body and he built it with a lot of work with heavy weights.

So, good news is, you can have what you want.  Bad news is, it is not going to happen by itself.  So get to the gym —your new body is waiting there for you to claim it.

I wouldn't mind having six-pack abs...or even visible abs! [emoji16]

Instead, I have the typical American chubby body.  I would probably have to lose at least 30lbs in order to be able to even SEE my abs.

Today, after coming back from my yearly checkup, my doctor said I needed to exercise more.  She suggested swimming.  Instead, I think I'll go back to dancing.  I also was told to watch what I eat.  I'm not a foodie, but I DO love sweets.  Sugar is my downfall.  [emoji37]

Basically, if you want abs, you have to WORK to get them.  They won't just magically appear.  Diet and exercise are key.

Good luck bro!☺

the six pack look is not the norm; it's debatable whether it's even healthy.  media standards for male bodies are just as unrealistic as they are for women, and the societal perceptions and expectations are just as toxic.  obviously that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with wanting to lose weight and gain muscle if that's what you need to do to be healthier and happier, but your concept of six pack abs being the normal appearance for a man raises some red flags for me.  focus on what's healthy rather than prioritizing looks.  when you start to feel better overall, how you feel about your appearance will reflect that.  it does take some effort for a lot of people to get in shape and stay that way, depending on your body and your lifestyle.  but it can be done, and being on t will make it that much easier.  it's not an overnight thing, though.  the less you worry about meeting a certain standard and just focus on making sure you get the right diet and exercise for you, the better the journey will be.  if you have access to a doctor you can talk to about nutrition and exercise, it might help to do that so you'll know you're going the right way.  if not, there are online resources that can give some good information to determine your needs, as well.
