Finally.. After 25+ years of pretending to be someone I am not, going through motions which have been severely harmful for me, and living my life to suite other people around me - today I go in to my Gender clinic to pick up my very first prescription of HRT medication!

I do not know my dosage as of yet, but I have done full bloods and according to my GP there, he said my testosterone level was lower than average for men anyhow, which (in a sense) is a good thing...right?!

Having not slept all night due to excitement, I will update here as soon as I get home as to what dosage etc.

Again, thank you to all the beautiful people here at Susan's who have embraced me in ways I never thought emotionally possible..

Hi Mortiis34,

I'm Laurie, The wandering waif of Susan's Place. Congrats on getting to start HRT today. It is a real good thing. I remember my own first day taking HRT. Let your journey begin and may it be a good one.
I do have one request of you Mortiis34, Please do not post your dosage when you get home. Doing so would be a violation of our Site Terms of Service & Rules to Live By. I do not want to have to make a report and correct you post if you did post them. I would rather help you celebrate your new beginning.

Hugs,
  Laurie

All understood, I was not aware that dosages were not allowed to be posted, but it does stand to reason really. I will just express the medication type, not the amount ;-)
Yes, I am incredibly excited, some may say over-excited lol

Sorry I'm a couple of days late, people - I have been taking Progynova  since Tuesday every evening at 5pm. I wanted to give it a few days to kick in before I  wrote this (for side-effect report).

I am happy to say that I currently have NO side effects what so ever. (Apart from some very very slight body aches, but definitely nothing to complain about).

I was hoping to start also with a Testosterone blocker, but the doctor said that because my Testosterone is already on the lower side of normal, it would not really be a good time to introduce that.

Congrats on starting HRT! It is such an important part of your journey! Enjoy the roller coaster ride and be patient! Changes will happen but they differ for different woman. So happy for you. I remember when I started, I was vibrating all the way home and could not wait to take that first dose! All the best!

Hugs,
Kelly

Congratulations, make sure to make some notes as things change. It is good to go back sometimes and read how things were then so you can compare how things have changed.
