My name is Natalie - I consider myself a MtF transgender. I'm a bit of a loaner and usually keep to myself. I am a techie geek who likes to play video games, program in many languages, and tinker with a lot of cool stuff. My last venture was 3D printing.

About a year ago I published my first book, and hope to have another one published soon.

I've kind of always felt feminine - everything from wearing girl clothes to a large stuffed animal collection. Now I think I'm ready to just accept who I am and take the next leap.

I'm usually an open book so feel free to ask any questions.

I found Susans to be full of supportive, knowledgable, and loving friends and I hope you do, too!

You sound a lot like me. Loner, geek, gamer, I am not a programmer though I did take various programming courses for several years(everything I try to make breaks, lol)

I remember having a ton of stuffed animals when I was younger. In particular Shamoo from Sea world, and this large Husky I got at a carnival that I called Balto after the movie by the same name(I think)

I always felt feminine, too, but in the past it was a bad thing. Like, how was I to find love as a man, while being so effeminate?

I'm glad your taking the next big step, it is a long and difficult journey, but it is hands-down the most rewarding and wonderful thing you will ever do, in my opinion! Don't be afraid to ask for advice and browse Susans, this place is invaluable as a resource for transgender folk!

I am also an open book; it may even be shocking to some the extent that I am willing to share(or over-share) ;p Feel free to DM me if you ever wanna chat! I might be able to offer some advice, but I am also fairly new to transitioning, too.

It's about operating system algorithms. I wrote it for my students and I've had positive feedback about it. I figure it was more professional than having set of chicken scratch set of hand written notes. In my university in the computer science area we seem to try to avoid books if we can - and I sold the ebook version last semester for $20. I do want to eventually want to write a non-fiction/scifi novel.

I can send you an ebook version if you want to see - or some "honest" person (not a student - they downloaded it from Amazon and uploaded that - then returned the ebook) has uploaded it to numerous pirate networks so you can get a copy there as well  .

Oh trust me I know the feeling of stuff not compiling or not working. I've found a lot of professors make it harder than it needs to be and use archaic tools that just compound student's frustrations.

Most of my stuffed animals are unicorns and pegasuses  . I sometimes feel weird having them because even a lot of women I know don't really have any stuffed animals or even girly ones like what I have .

I know the feeling of trying to find love - when I told my ex about my feminine side she kind of weirded out and I wanted to change for her. Which I learned was the wrong thing to do. So now I'm seeing therapists and been trying to find others like me who I can talk to.

I relate to banana man from Adventure Time - "I don't want to be alone but, I've gotten pretty good at it".
