I hate my beard and mustache. That facial hair shadow is a pain to hide with make up. So last week I scheduled an appointment with a Laser Hair Removal spa place thing and I did my first session today.  Boy was it very shocking and surprising of how small but painful it was. It felt like a small poke of a needle that doesn't pierce the skin, but it stunk bad. For some reason my body was shaking because I am/was not used to this sensation. The pain overall was not super bad when I was zapped it was like a "Oh my god!" then it didn't hurt after. Few hours I can feel a slight irritation when eating or opening my jaw wider than normal. But so far the first session is out of the way and I go back in 4 weeks yay!

The first sessions are worst when you have a high density of hair. It also depends on the type of laser used and strength selected by the technician. But it will probably get better after each session :)

So I finally got brave enough to get my pubic region lasered.  Underarms & 'brazillian'... meaning basically the whole kitty.  Ouch..ouch..ouch... lol

Its coming back much lighter than before... I've been wanting it OFF since it started growing in my mid/late 20's :P  Got too used to not having any.

No pain no gain girls!
My suggestion is to go in there and negotiate a full body treatment package of 9 sessions. Six isn't enough for most.  Ask foe the Groupon price for the other body parts and they will probably give you something close.  It costs money but is so worth it.  Enjoy!

I feel your pain girls!  I found that as the sessions went by, there was less hair which should have meant less pain but with each session the tech turned the power up :o  Still, at least the sessions got faster!

I did find being properly hydrated helped so drinking loads and loads of water and avoid anything with caffeine during the day leading up to the session.  Some ibuprofen an hour or so before helps too

I cried the first treatment I went in for, and that was with 2 applications of numbing creme!  The second treatment was brutal as well, but then I went in for the third expecting torturous pain and was surprised how much mellower it was!  My doctor had told me it would get easier...but to actually experience it easier was a nice surprise!

I just had my 4th session. I was wincing all the way thru my 3rd so I was pleasantly surprised that it was a lot easier this time around

I had my 5th treatment today and smelled burnt hair. The only part that hurt was the mustache. I go back in 5 weeks. At the end of the year i hope to be beardless. Right now most high school boys have more facial hair than me.
