I will go camping next week with the scouts. We are a mixed group, boys and girls. Ages 8-18.

I have not shaved my legs or armpits. Time to do the only thing I can do. Come out. I will wear shorts.

This is exciting! I love camps!

That's awesome!  I hope you have a successful and fun camp.

I am going camping next weekend, too.  It is the annual camp-out of the astronomy society.  "Nerd camp", I call it.  I am going to be doing a talk at it, too.  I did one last year, and it was fun.

What is your talk about?

We will sleep in tents for a week. A week is pretty ok length for a camp.

Way to go Tony! Each step out can be exhilarating.

I too love camping, I'm going with 3 friends at the end of the month. Just 3 nights but a getaway nonetheless.

Not exactly camping, but I'm part of a Viking re-enactment group and we go for long weekends and stay in Viking or Saxon villages.  That's wattle and daub huts, with wooden sleeping benches, so quite like camping.

In our local group they say there's the gender you were assigned at birth, the gender you are in the 21st Century, and the gender you are in the 10th Century.  In some cases that's three different genders.

What is your talk about?
This year, it is "Setting Up Your Telescope".  Last year, it was "How to Use Your Telescope".  Last year's talk in particular was a great confidence-builder for me, as it was my first time speaking in public as myself.

Now I'm back at home again. It was an adventure. Thunder storms, hot summer sun, cold the last day, just above 20 degrees Celcius.

I regained a lot of new energy. It was so much fun.
