Rachel

My doctor has me doing subcutaneous injections (under the skin and into the fat but not in the muscle). I had been doing IM for years. Is there any difference between the two from the aspect of effect or absorption?

The subcutaneous injection site gets discolored and slightly bruised. 4 days after the injection the area is still sensitive.

Thanks for your thoughts.

@Rachael ... For whatever reason your doctor may want slower absorption... perhaps longer sustained levels is the goal?  Perhaps the soreness and bruising is something that you want to discuss at your next doctor visit.

I have recently changed over from im to sub cut.   I feel like yes it does slow down the absorption drastically....

With subcutaneous, it leaked and noticed more bruises, bumps. IM is my preferred method, no such issues. Talk it over with your doctor. ;)
