What's the difference?

My partner has been thinking about where on the gender spectrum he is, and we've come across so many different labels, it's confusing. Non-binary, gender fluid, bi-gender, a-gender, dual gender, gender queer, just what is the difference between all of those?
He's happy enough to not need a label ('I'm just me' he says) but I'm curious about what exactly all those things mean, especially the difference between gender fluid and bi-gender (is dual gender the same as bi-gender?).

I'm genderfluid, probably 98% of the time I know I'm Devlyn. The other 2% of the time, Mike is back. I don't change my appearance or clothing to male on his days.

I can't explain the difference anymore than you can probably explain how you know that you're Sylvia, I just know. 

Binary means believing that there are only men and women. Non-binary means believing in the spectrum of gender, and people who fall in between male and female.

I personally believe (and it match Wiki) that:
- binary are transmen and transwomen who stay in binary field of men and women just passing transition (for example, I consider myself binary woman);
- non-binary (apparently, it's genderqueer) including all other categories;
- bi- or trigender is person who expressing 2 or 3 gender identities (though I dunno how it works), probably it's genderfluids;
- a-genders are those who consider themselves genderless.

Hi hon, welcome!

It's a confusing space to be sure, but in the main, it's all about finding folk who feel the same way about gender as we do... loosely based on three key concepts - how strongly we feel we have gender, how rigid our sense of gender is, and how we align against the gender binary...

This gets broken down a little by bi gender (periods of feeling like one gender, more than the other), gender queer - where our sense of gender isn't aligned with our expected gender, but either flows, or is fragmented across our selves - a catch all umbrella for those that don't quite fit into just one space...

So, it's complicated, but a useful way of trying to find our tribe.
