Hey all,

I just wanted to squeal about having been dating a really cute boy for a week now!

Anyways, I wanted to share because he's 100% gay, but he really likes me - and he knows I'm trans and he doesn't see me as anything less than a guy, which is an incredibly affirming feeling. I was even able to hop in the shower with my binder off, and feel comfortable around him, because he just doesn't see my chest as a point of interest.

It's just totally different from my previous relationship, and when I mis-name myself (it always happens if I'm quoting other people talking about me) he gets really thrown off, because he can't see me as anything *but* Liam.

And, although I'm pre-T, he doesn't see my body as being feminine. I'm shorter/thinner than him, but we wear the same size clothes (mine just fit looser.)

And 2 things to talk about - I accompanied him to the hospital last week (nothing too serious, but he needed an IV) and he consistently asked the nurses/doctor's if "he [me] could come with me?" and they treated me just as any other guy would be treated.

Aand the second is just kind of funny, I ended up with a bruised nose because my dog tried to bite him while we were cuddling, and he accidentally backhanded me in the face, but I was very proud to have handled it well! (I felt it was a bit of a right of passage!)

So yes; I feel on top of the world these days, and I wanted to share!

That is great.  I have not started transition yet and have a straight boyfriend.  He seems okay with things so far but not sure how he will be after I start dressing like a guy...and really don't know how he will be once I am on T.  But your post gives me hope that if my relationship ends I can find a nice gay boy :)

That sounds like an awesome guy! He sounds super sweet. And it gives me hope that I'll find one too now that I know they're out there.

I'm so happy for you, Liam! It's so good that you've got a good and understanding boyfriend! I wish I did. I've had so many boyfriend who saw me less as a man because of my body. I hope you two live a long life.

That's awesome :)

It's nice to know there are people out there who really do look past physical things to see a person for who they really are.
