Hi, my name is Chris. I'm a 29 year old transman from Australia. I'm not very good at introductions so I'll keep it brief. I first heard the term transgender 5 years ago and knew immediately that it was the term that could describe my whole life. I recently came out to my therapist and am building up to talk to my friends and family and am hoping I can find some good tips here.

Hey Chris!

It's great you told your therapist about this issue. I'm sure it'll help you a lot.
About friends and family... You'll never know how they'll take such news. From my own experience, nobody care enough as long as they don't get involved (I mean, until they can do nothing about it and until I trying to get in their pants lul). From experience of others here I know that people can become very supportive or leave you regardless of their current opinion. You'll never know for sure until talk with them. So I suggest you check yourself - what can you get and what can you lose and if you'll be able to endure potential losses. Be ready for that.
